    Walt Disney Imagineering is giving Big Thunder Mountain Railroad its largest refurbishment in decades, including new signage, updated track elements, and refreshed theming throughout. A new minimum height of 40 inches remains in place. Reopens early May 2026.

    The former Aerosmith-themed launch coaster is being completely rethemed as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, featuring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, a brand-new onboard soundtrack, a first-ever Scooter Audio-Animatronic, and nine celebrity cameos in the queue.
