A high-speed outdoor roller coaster joining Universal Studios Florida in 2027. Universal describes it as putting guests in the driver seat of the Fast & Furious universe, with riders experiencing the sensation of 360 degree drifting as they speed through a series of maneuvers. The layout includes a 170 foot vertical spike that sends riders nearly 17 stories into the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk. It takes the site of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

Universal Studios Hollywood Adds a $19.95 to $24.95 Ticket to Ride Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift During Halloween Horror Nights

Universal Studios Hollywood is selling a new Halloween Horror Nights add-on ticket for nighttime access to its week-old coaster, which the park had been opening during the event only to select guests. Theme Park Insider reports the price moves with the night, from $19.95 to $24.95, and the coaster runs only from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Event admission is still separate, and Orlando gets its own version in 2027.

The release lists 72 MPH, up to 3.6 Gs and four launches along 4,100 feet of track. Orlando is building its own version on the old Rip Ride Rockit site, and Universal has said the two will not be the same ride.

A Dodge Charger Ride Vehicle Is Being Pulled Along Part of Hollywood Drift's Track by Rope at Universal Studios Florida

Aerial and ground photos published Saturday show a black ride vehicle built to look like Dominic Toretto's 1970 Dodge Charger sitting in Hollywood Drift's first launch, with a rope on its nose and arched metal frames attached to its sides. A second winch sits at the top of the return hill above Universal Music Plaza, and appears set up to pull a car through that section against the normal ride direction.
