Passholder Reservations Ran Out at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios on Saturday, Leaving Only Animal Kingdom

If you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder and you woke up Saturday thinking about a spontaneous EPCOT day, you were probably too late to book one.

Passholder park reservations for Saturday, September 26 were full at EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios by 10:07am, and Magic Kingdom followed before 11am. That left Disney's Animal Kingdom as the only park where a passholder could still book.

How it unfolded

WDWMagic reported at 10:07am Eastern that passholder reservations had reached capacity at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. At 10:55am it added an update: "Magic Kingdom has also reached capacity for Annual Passholder reservations. That leaves only Disney's Animal Kingdom with passholder reservations still available today."

We checked Disney's own passholder availability data at about 1:15pm. It showed the same picture for the Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Sorcerer Pass and Disney Pirate Pass: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios all marked fully booked for September 26, and Animal Kingdom still available. (The Disney Pixie Dust Pass is blocked out at all four parks on Saturday anyway.)

WDWMagic called it "a rare occurrence in recent times." The most recent comparison we found is July 4, a holiday Saturday, when Magic Kingdom's passholder reservations were gone by June 22 and EPCOT's by July 2, according to WDWMagic. This time it was an ordinary Saturday, and the parks were reported full that same morning. The site points to a mix of reasons: a cool front that made for nicer weather, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and new things to see at Hollywood Studios, including The Magic of Disney Animation and the new Lilypad's Jams version of Alien Swirling Saucers. Disney had not commented as of Saturday afternoon.

Eleven reservation-free days, all of them weekdays

According to WDWMagic's running list, September has 11 Good to Go Days, the dates when passholders can visit a theme park without a reservation, subject to their pass's blockout dates and park capacity: September 2, 3, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16, 23, 24, 28 and 29.

Every one of those dates falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. That is not a fixed rule: WDWMagic's 2026 list shows six Sunday Good to Go Days over the summer (June 28, July 12, 19 and 26, and August 2 and 9). But no Friday or Saturday appears anywhere on this year's list, and a Good to Go Day is still subject to park capacity, so it would not guarantee entry on a day like today.

Relief comes quickly. Disney's availability data shows all four parks bookable again on Sunday, September 27, for Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass and Pirate Pass holders (Pixie Dust Pass holders are blocked out again Sunday). Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, are the last two Good to Go Days on September's list, and Disney's data flags both as reservation-free for all four passes.

If you are a passholder without a reservation today

WDWMagic lays out two workarounds. Its first named Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom as the park to enter first; with Magic Kingdom now full, only Animal Kingdom is left:

• Book Animal Kingdom, enter it first, then hop to another park.
• Wait until 2:00pm, when passholders can enter a park without a reservation. That rule has an exception WDWMagic spells out: it does not apply at Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays. So today, the 2:00pm option works for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, but not Magic Kingdom (and not for Pixie Dust Pass holders, who are blocked out Saturday).

Availability also moves during the day as people cancel, so it is worth refreshing if you have your heart set on a particular park.
