The Haunted Mansion Came Out From Behind the Scaffolding With a New Roof, Ashy Chimneys and Shrubs Still to Be Replanted

Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion is visible again. The scaffolding and most of the scrim were down by Friday morning, capping an exterior project that traces back to a December 2025 permit, and the building underneath has a new roof, ashy black detailing near the chimney tops and a dome finial that has gone from gold or bronze to a green patina. The shrubs and trees cleared to make room for the scaffolding have not been replanted yet.

SeaWorld Is Building an I Know What You Did Last Summer House for Howl-O-Scream, and the Fisherman Shows Up September 11

SeaWorld announced Friday morning that Sony's slasher franchise is coming to Howl-O-Scream as a haunted house called I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch, opening September 11 in Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio. SeaWorld says the house is based on the first film, the 1997 original, and walks guests through recreations of movie scenes and the events of the Southport massacre, with the vengeful Fisherman waiting around every corner.

New Stretch of Floridian Way Opens August 10 at Disney World, Shifting Traffic Near Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian

On Monday, August 10, drivers at Walt Disney World move onto a newly built stretch of Floridian Way, putting all guest traffic into the southbound lanes between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Grand Floridian entrance. Two of the project's three roundabouts are already in, and temporary driveways will keep the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian's Island Tower and the wedding pavilion reachable.

Bob Marley - A Tribute to Freedom in Universal CityWalk will run a Jamaica Independence Day celebration on Saturday, August 8 starting at 3 p.m., with grilled skewers and Ackee & Saltfish served that day only, plus live bands, a steel drummer and stilt walkers. Universal did not attach prices to either special dish, and it is the second straight year the venue has held the celebration on the Saturday after the holiday.

Universal has confirmed which three Halloween Horror Nights 35 haunted houses open at 2 p.m. for eligible Stay & Scream guests: Stranger Things 5, Hellraiser, and Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control. The Scream Early add-on also moved its entry time up an hour this year, from 3 p.m. to 2 p.m. It starts at $70 per person and does not include full event admission.

A New EPCOT Fireworks Dinner at Shiki-Sai Will Run $149.50 a Head, and Disney Took the Listing Back Down the Same Day

Disney added a Shiki-Sai Fireworks Dining Package at EPCOT's Japan Pavilion on Wednesday, with reservations listed as opening August 27. Ages 10 and up pay $120 before tax and gratuity, or $149.50 all in, and ages 3 to 9 pay $60, or $74.70. AllEars reported the details went up on the Disney World site that morning and were later taken down, and the package page now returns a 404.

Mayor Brian Winddancer, the horse mayor voiced by Patrick Warburton in Zootopia 2, now opens the Tree of Life Theater show with a speech of his own. The new pre-show sequence debuts today, adds a few seconds to the roughly nine minute runtime, and is the first notable update since Zootopia: Better Zoogether! opened on November 7, 2025.

Buried in a July 24 board packet, overshadowed by the district's same-day move toward 2045 growth caps, Resolution 687 sells the Central Energy Plant's gas and steam turbines, generators and heat recovery equipment to recycling and demolition firm S&S Recycling & Demolition, which outbid GE Vernova and four others. Everything must be removed and the site restored before March 31, 2027.
