Magic Kingdom Stays Open Until 11pm on November 16 and 21 as Disney World Adds Hours at Three Parks

Two more late nights just landed on the Magic Kingdom calendar. Disney World updated its hours on the afternoon of Friday, October 30, and Magic Kingdom now stays open until 11pm on Monday, November 16 and Saturday, November 21, an hour later than before.

Those are not the only changes. Three of the four theme parks picked up extra time between Sunday, November 15 and Saturday, November 21. EPCOT is the one park that did not change.

Magic Kingdom: earlier on the 15th, later on the 16th and 21st

  • Sunday, November 15: opens at 8am instead of 9am, with Early Theme Park Entry starting at 7:30am. Closing stays at 6pm.
  • Monday, November 16: 9am to 11pm, up from a 10pm close.
  • Saturday, November 21: 9am to 11pm, up from a 10pm close.

The 6pm close on November 15 is no surprise: that is a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party night. Blog Mickey notes the party starts at 7pm and that night has sold out. That is likely why the extra hour on the 15th comes at the start of the day rather than the end.

This follows a similar change for the week before. On October 26, we covered Disney adding hours at three parks for the week of November 8, including an 11pm close at Magic Kingdom on November 14.

Animal Kingdom: a late start that now ends late too

  • Sunday, November 15: the 9am opening stays (every other day that week starts at 8am), but closing moves from 6pm to 8pm.
  • Saturday, November 21: 8am to 7pm, up from a 6pm close.

Two extra hours in the evening is the biggest single change on the list, and it lands on the one morning that week Animal Kingdom was already scheduled to open late.

Hollywood Studios: a half-hour head start on the 21st

On Saturday, November 21, Hollywood Studios now opens at 8:30am instead of 9am, with Early Theme Park Entry at 8am. Day guests still leave at 7pm, since that is a Disney Jollywood Nights evening. Blog Mickey says its Jollywood Nights showtimes post had listed the 8:30am opening only for November 7 and 14, so the 21st now joins them.

What to do if you are going that week

If you already have plans, it is worth making sure your park reservations and dining bookings still fit the new opening and closing times. More changes are possible: WDW News Today wrote that it expects Disney to extend more hours heading into the holiday season.

Which would you use, the 8am Magic Kingdom opening on the 15th or the 11pm closes on the 16th and 21st?
