Magic Kingdom Gets Extended Evening Hours Back on January 6, Its First Night for the Resort-Guest Perk Since September 9

If you are staying at a Disney Deluxe resort after the holidays, Magic Kingdom is about to stay open late for you again. Disney's park hours calendar brings Extended Evening Hours back on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, from 9pm to 11pm.

That ends a long dry spell. WDWMagic reports that Magic Kingdom "hasn't hosted Extended Evening Hours since September 9." Blog Mickey, which went through the calendar day by day, says the park has no other Extended Evening Hours nights on Disney's calendar between now and January 6.

Why Magic Kingdom has been out of the rotation

Blame the parties. WDWMagic ties the break to Magic Kingdom's party season. With Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and then Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party booking so many of the park's nights, there has been little space left for the resort-guest perk.

While Magic Kingdom was busy, Disney handed the Wednesday slot to other parks. WDWMagic says Hollywood Studios has held Wednesday nights since September 16, and Animal Kingdom picked up some dates as well.

The Christmas party wraps on December 22. The peak holiday weeks follow, and then Magic Kingdom takes its Wednesday back on January 6.

What the January 6 night looks like

Blog Mickey lists the day like this on Disney's calendar:

• Early Theme Park Entry: 8:30am
• Regular park hours: 9:00am to 9:00pm
• Extended Evening Hours: 9:00pm to 11:00pm, subject to change

Blog Mickey says the calendar lists 23 attractions for the night, the same 23 as last year. That includes the big ones: TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan's Flight and Mickey's PhilharMagic. The one timing quirk is Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, which Blog Mickey says ends its Extended Evening Hours at 10pm instead of 11pm.

Only one January date so far

Disney's calendar currently runs through January 7, so January 6 is the only Magic Kingdom date on it. Blog Mickey points out that last year followed a similar timeline: the first 2026 schedule had Magic Kingdom's return set for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and listed three Wednesday nights that January. It expects more January 2027 nights to be added later.

Who gets in

You qualify if you are booked at a Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort, or at one of four other select hotels: the Walt Disney World Swan, the Dolphin, the Swan Reserve or Shades of Green. Disney's Extended Evening Hours page says "This popular benefit will continue through 2027!"

WDWMagic notes that entry also takes valid park admission, and you scan in with a MagicBand, a Disney MagicMobile pass or your Key to the World Card.

Until then: EPCOT Mondays, Animal Kingdom Wednesdays

If your trip lands before January 6, Blog Mickey's list of every Extended Evening Hours date on the calendar shows two parks covering the gap:

• EPCOT, Mondays, 9pm to 11pm: November 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; December 7, 14, 21 and 28; January 4
• Animal Kingdom, Wednesdays, 6pm to 8pm: November 4, 11, 18 and 25; December 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30

Hollywood Studios, which has carried so many of the fall Wednesdays (and added Rise of the Resistance to its list, as we reported on October 10), has no more nights on the calendar after October 28, according to Blog Mickey. Those dates reflect the calendar as of October 28, so more could still appear.

So, if you have two extra hours at Magic Kingdom on January 6 with only resort guests in the park: TRON first, or straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train?
