Aerial photos published Friday show two finished sections of the Maya pyramid facade craned onto the Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent building at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The top and bottom thirds are carved and painted in red and turquoise. The middle is still open steel, and WDW News Today reports the back of the facade is crumbling rock.

Disney Named the Animal Kingdom Indiana Jones Ride Myth of the Jade Serpent, and Harrison Ford Is the Face Model for Its Animatronic

Disney used its D23 parks showcase to give the Animal Kingdom Indiana Jones attraction a name, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and to confirm that Harrison Ford is the model for its Audio-Animatronics figure. Disney says it is the first time Ford's face will appear on the character at any of its parks. The ride opens in Tropical Americas in 2027, on the site of DINOSAUR.

A Crane Was Still Lifting a Beam Into the Tropical Americas Entrance Arch on Monday Morning, and New Steel Went Up at the Encanto Casita Site

Blog Mickey caught the Pueblo Esperanza entrance frame mid-build at Disney's Animal Kingdom on Monday, with one steel beam still suspended from the crane hook as crews maneuvered it into place. Elsewhere on the site, fresh steel columns now stand on a poured concrete wall near the green Encanto show building, and Blog Mickey believes they are the start of Casa Madrigal itself. Tropical Americas is still slated for 2027.
