Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Just Had Its First Night in Four Seasons That Did Not Sell Out, and It Was a $149 Sunday

For four straight seasons, every single night of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party sold out. On Sunday, August 30, one did not.

The August 30 party went ahead with tickets still on sale, and WDWMagic calls it the first party night since the sellout run began in 2022 to do that. The date was priced at $149, one of the cheaper nights on the calendar, and it held on sale while several more expensive October dates had already gone.

Blog Mickey noticed the same thing from the other direction. It checked Disney's ticketing page on the morning of August 30 and found the night still bookable, which it described this way: "Online same-day ticket availability is relatively rare for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Typically, the event sells out days, weeks, and even months in advance."

The streak that just ended

WDWMagic lays out how complete the sellouts had become:

  • 2022: the first season with a clean sweep. Its final holdout, October 21, went on September 11, 2022.
  • 2023: the calendar was full by September 30.
  • 2024: the board was clear by September 24.
  • 2025: clear by September 24 once more, to the day.

That is four seasons in a row with no leftovers at all. August 30 broke it.

Why that particular night

WDWMagic points at a pile-up rather than a single cause. August 30 landed on the opening weekend of two other Orlando Halloween events. Universal's Halloween Horror Nights 35 opened its gates on August 28, and SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular started its run on August 29, so the city's Halloween calendar was about as crowded as it gets. Central Florida had also taken heavy rain in the days before, and again that day, weather that tends to thin out the last-minute walk-up crowd at an event this exposed to the elements.

The outlet's own read: "None of these factors alone would likely have been enough to leave tickets available." Together, it says, they appear to have been enough to tip a date that was already on the softer end of the calendar.

Where the season stands now

Not much has actually loosened up. Seven more dates have gone in the past week (October 22, September 13, 15, 20 and 22, then October 18 and September 1), and WDWMagic's running tally now has 27 nights sold out. Add the 10 still on sale and the August 30 party itself, and you account for all 38 dates Disney lists for 2026.

For comparison, WDWMagic notes that 2025 hit a similar point in mid September and then sold out completely on September 24.

What the ticket actually buys

Straight from Disney's event page: the party runs 7:00 PM to midnight on select nights from August 7 to October 31, 2026, and your event ticket lets you into Magic Kingdom park from 4:00 PM, three hours before the party officially begins. Tickets are "$119 to $229 per ticket, plus tax," varying by date. Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket, but only on event nights from August 7 to October 2, 2026.

Disney flags two new additions for 2026. The first is billed on its page as "A Masquerade with Stitch" at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, where you can "Join Stitch, Lilo and Angel at an ever-changing masquerade in Tomorrowland." Every accessory Stitch pulls out of Lilo's costume trunk sparks another theme swap. The second sends Captain Jack Sparrow to Adventureland to lead what Disney calls "a swashbuckling series of pirate antics."

Whether one rainy Sunday inside two rival Halloween opening weekends is a blip or the first crack in a four season run is the open question. With ten nights left and the last October dates at $224, the rest of the season should answer it fast.
