The cheapest room at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge costs $512 a night. That is the starting rate for a Duo Studio with a Preferred View, according to the starting standard rates for the new Bay Lake resort that WDW News Today published on Thursday afternoon, October 8.

The prices showed up on the same day reservations opened to everyone. Disney's booking schedule let Disney Vacation Club members make early rental reservations on October 6 and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on October 7, and on October 8 "All guests can make reservations online or by calling (407) 934-7639," per the Disney Parks Blog. The resort opens July 1, 2027.

We already covered the opening date and the first look at the rooms and the DVC Member First Wave package and its points chart. This is the cash side: what a night costs if you are not paying in points.

The cash rates

These are the starting standard rates per night that WDW News Today listed. As the outlet puts it, "Rates vary by date and the number of guests staying in the room," so treat them as the floor, not the price you will see for every date.

  • Duo Studio, Preferred View: $512
  • Resort Studio: $551 (No Balcony), $568 (Resort View), $576 (Resort View, King Bed), $613 (Preferred View), $622 (Preferred View, King Bed)
  • Deluxe Studio: $630 (Resort View), $680 (Preferred View), $748 (Premium View)
  • Resort Studio with Club Access: $901, $915 (King Bed), $1,109 (Premium View), $1,125 (Premium View, King Bed)
  • 1 Bedroom Villa: $929 (Resort View), $1,041 (Preferred View), $1,145 (Premium View)
  • 2 Bedroom Villa: $1,548 (Resort View), $1,719 (Preferred View)
  • 3 Bedroom Grand Villa, Premium View: $2,973
  • 1 Bedroom Lake House: $2,353
  • 2 Bedroom Lake House: $2,942
  • Hidden Willow Presidential Suite, Club Access: $2,976

One line in WDW News Today's table does not add up. It lists the Premium View 2 Bedroom Villa at $1,125, which is cheaper than the Resort View version and the same figure as a Club Access studio. Premium is the top view tier everywhere else in the table, so we have left that one out until it can be confirmed.

What the view names mean

The view category moves the price as well. WDW News Today defines them this way: Preferred View looks at the pool or offers partial views of Bay Lake, Resort View looks at the woodlands or the parking areas, and Premium View "offers partial views of Magic Kingdom fireworks or Magic Kingdom Park."

That gap is real money. A Deluxe Studio jumps from $630 with a Resort View to $748 with a Premium View, $118 a night more for a partial view of either Magic Kingdom Park or its fireworks, as WDW News Today describes it.

The Lake Houses

The headline rooms are the Lake Houses, which Disney calls new and exclusive to Disney's Lakeshore Lodge. Disney says the one- and two-bedroom versions sleep up to five or eight guests respectively, and each will have a private porch facing the water, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The artwork inside nods to Brother Bear, and the primary bedroom gets a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature.

At $2,942 for the 2 Bedroom and $2,353 for the 1 Bedroom, they rank third and fourth on the list, behind only the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite and the 3 Bedroom Grand Villa. If that starting rate held with all eight guests in a 2 Bedroom Lake House, it would work out to about $368 per person per night, before tax.

The single most expensive listing is the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite with Club Access at $2,976, only $3 more than the 3 Bedroom Grand Villa.

Where it is

Lakeshore Lodge sits on Bay Lake between Fort Wilderness and Disney's Wilderness Lodge, on the former site of River Country, with 967 rooms in total, according to WDW News Today.

So, is $512 a night the price of a new Disney Deluxe, or would you hold out for a Lake House split eight ways?
