Rained Out at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Disney Is Turning October 8 Party Tickets Into Free 1-Day Park Hoppers
Were you at Magic Kingdom for Thursday night's rainy party? Check your Disney account. Walt Disney World has turned tickets for the rainy October 8 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party into a free 1-day Park Hopper ticket, and guests did not have to ask for it.
Blog Mickey called it "a soggy night" at the party, after an extra rainy few days in Central Florida. Disney then sent ticket holders a message that opened with an apology: "We apologize for the inconvenience this evening."

What the ticket gets you
Disney describes the replacement as a "1-day ticket with Park Hopper option to any Walt Disney World theme park, valid for one year from the date of your original event ticket." That covers Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, with park hopping on the day you use it.
The fine print Disney attached, as relayed by Blog Mickey:
- Valid: one year from the original party date, so through about October 8, 2027 for Thursday's guests
- Reservations: theme park reservations are required
- Transfers and refunds: nontransferable and nonrefundable
- The message itself: can't be used to get into a theme park
You still keep it if you used your party ticket
The alert says the party ticket was "converted," which sounds like you lost something. You did not. WDW News Today reports the Park Hopper "is still valid if guests used their Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket," and says Reddit users reported getting the notices around Thursday's party.
Don't panic if nothing has shown up yet. WDW News Today says these make-up tickets go out "in waves," and anyone who thinks they should have one but has not received it should contact Walt Disney World guest services.

Why a park day and not another party night
Another party night is not always on the table. WDW News Today explains that Disney can sometimes move party tickets to a later party night, but when every future party is sold out, "as is the case this year," it issues the 1-day Park Hopper instead.
Parties are rarely called off outright for rain, the outlet adds, but many of the exclusive extras can't go on in a downpour, including Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade. Neither report says exactly which entertainment was affected on October 8.

A change from the Guest Relations line
Blog Mickey welcomed the change. The outlet recalls that after the first party of 2022, on August 12, guests who felt the weather had seriously disrupted their evening took it up with Guest Relations, where the options included moving to another party night, a one-day park ticket and, only rarely, a refund. Full cancellations are another matter. Disney canceled the September 26, 2024 party ahead of Hurricane Helene and said it would refund tickets.
Blog Mickey said it was happy to see Disney act proactively, especially since it expected long lines would have formed at Guest Relations had the tickets been handled case by case.
So, fair trade? A rainy party night for a full park day with hopping, or would you rather have had another shot at the party itself?
