What Blood Noir is

Blood Noir is the latest edition of Nightmare Fuel, Universal's recurring high-energy show that mixes acrobatics, stunts, and aerial performance set to a driving score. Universal describes this year's installment this way:

Embark on a dark musical journey and resist temptation as death-defying stunts lure you deeper into a vampire-ridden metropolis.

The quick facts: Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir, a live stunt and aerial show at Halloween Horror Nights 35, Universal Studios Florida. Vampire-themed. The sixth installment of the Nightmare Fuel franchise. HHN 35 runs select nights August 28 through November 1, 2026.

A franchise that keeps evolving

Nightmare Fuel is not new, but its theme changes every year. The show debuted at Halloween Horror Nights in 2021 and has become a fan-favorite fixture, with the previous two editions leaning into a dark circus aesthetic under the Nocturnal Circus and Circus of Decay names. This year swaps the circus for a gothic, blood-soaked cityscape, giving the franchise its first full vampire makeover.

How it fits into HHN 35

Blood Noir is the first live show announced for Halloween Horror Nights 35, which runs select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026. Universal had already revealed the bulk of the event's haunted houses by the time the show was announced, so Blood Noir helps round out the entertainment side of the lineup as the event build continues toward opening night.

The bottom line

If you are planning an HHN 35 visit, Nightmare Fuel has become one of those shows worth budgeting time for between houses. A vampire-themed Blood Noir sounds like a strong fit for the franchise, and it is another piece of the puzzle sliding into place ahead of the August 28 kickoff.

Universal Designed the HHN 35 Sinners House Around One Scene First, and Its Show Director Says That Is Not Always How Houses Get Built

Universal published a room by room walkthrough of the Sinners haunted house one day before Halloween Horror Nights 35 opens. Show director Ramon Paradoa says the team locked the surreal montage set first and designed the scenes before and after it around that, which he says is not always how Universal builds a house. The Sinners house was not on the paid lights on tour that matched three other HHN 35 houses to their codenames last week.
