Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift's Final Track Sections Went In Before Sunrise, Completing the Coaster's Full Layout
The last gap in the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift track closed up before the sun came up Monday morning. WDW News Today reported that aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared the images on X, and that the final sections were placed before sunrise at Universal Studios Florida.
That gap was in the tall inversion. On Sunday it was still missing its highest track segments. By Monday morning it was installed and complete.

What the finished layout does
WDW News Today lays out the ride sequence: trains climb the 170 foot spike, which turns 180 degrees near the top, then reverse and come back down through a sliding switch track. Past that switch they hit the very tall inversion that just received its final pieces. The layout also includes a second, lower inversion that trains go through on the way back to the station.
Attractions Magazine reports that the 170 foot spike will make Hollywood Drift the tallest coaster at Universal Orlando, ahead of the 155 foot top hat on Jurassic World VelociCoaster and the 167 foot Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit it is replacing.

Track complete is not the same as ride ready
A completed layout is a real milestone, but plenty of work is left. The aerial photos show the lagoon side of the site still largely unpaved, with landscaping and permanent walkways not yet installed there. Universal has announced Hollywood Drift opens in 2027, without a specific date.

The clock on Supercharged
The track milestone comes two weeks before the other Fast & Furious attraction at the park goes away. Fast & Furious - Supercharged permanently closes on August 17, 2026. Its last day of operation is Sunday, August 16.
Hollywood Drift replaces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed in August 2025.
