A molded brain, a bat-topped black cake, and a jerky can full of pasta: Universal reveals the HHN 35 menu

Somebody at Universal looked at a pale molded brain sitting in a pool of red sauce, surrounded by what appear to be cheese curds and croutons, and decided the name was Pleasure & Pain Brain. That is the kind of lineup this is.

Universal Orlando revealed the Halloween Horror Nights 35 food and drink menu on its Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 18, according to WDW News Today, which captured the promotional images. The event runs select nights from August 28 through November 1, a 48-night run per Universal's own announcement.

Quick facts: the menu spans 14 named items across food and drink, guests 21 and over with a valid ID can order the alcoholic options, and the whole thing is themed to the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, the setting Universal Studios Florida transforms into for this year's event.

The Ozzy corner

Two items point straight at Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, the haunted house coming to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. There is a drink called Black Rain, served dark with a pale foam head, and The Prince of Darkness Cake, a small black tiered cake with a bat perched on a swirl of frosting.

Black Rain is not a random name. FOX 35 Orlando reported in July that the house takes visitors "through ancient ruins, dungeons and a realm inspired by the covers of Ozzy's albums," naming Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon and Black Rain among them. So the drink shares a name with one of the albums the house is built around.

Hellraiser gets the brain

The Pleasure & Pain Brain comes paired with Cenobite's Kiss, a clear red drink over ice. Universal's promotional art for the menu carries a Hellraiser copyright line, alongside credits for Evil Dead Burn, Sinners and Netflix.

Hopper's drink, El's jerky

Two of the items point at Stranger Things by name. Hopper's Recharger is a pale yellow drink with a lime wheel, and El's Battery Jerky arrives in a black beef jerky can printed in chunky orange and cream lettering, packed with pasta and strips of jerky.

The rest of the menu

WDW News Today's rundown of the announced items also includes:

  • Rigatoni Ritual Pie
  • Birria Pizza Fries
  • Torn to Shreds Pork Sandwich
  • Annie's Juke Joint Catfish & Grits
  • Lasagna Burn
  • Meat Grinder Red Velvet
  • Slide Guitar Smash
  • Frostbite

Prices were not part of the announcement, and Universal has not posted them yet.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 marks the 35th anniversary of the event, with 10 all-new haunted houses. Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow headline together for the first time in Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.

Pirate River Quest Has Sat on Legoland Florida's Closure List for More Than a Year With No Reopening Date, and Three More Went Dark Monday

Legoland Florida's temporary closures page lists seven things shut right now, and three of them carry no end date at all: Pirate River Quest, The LEGOLAND Story and the Minifigure Trading Wall. Archived copies show the boat ride has been on the list since at least September last year, when Legoland's own page dated the closure to August 4, 2025. Four more closures carry dates, three of them starting Monday, including The Great LEGO Race and the full closure of Imagination Zone. One of those four, Deli Takeover, is still listed as a lunch option on the park's new prepaid Dining Packages.
