Disney has officially announced that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will open on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. After nearly three months of transformation, G-Force Records is back in business — and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are running the show.

This is one of the most anticipated reimaginings in recent Disney history, and the details Disney has revealed make it clear they've put serious love into this one. Whether you're a lifelong Muppets devotee or just in it for the inversions, here's everything you need to know.

From Aerosmith to Animal: A New Era at G-Force Records

The original Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith debuted at Disney's Hollywood Studios way back in 1999 and became one of the park's signature attractions — the only Disney World coaster with an inversion loop, launching guests from 0 to 57 mph in under three seconds. It was a beloved icon for over 25 years.

But on March 2, 2026, the ride closed its doors on the Aerosmith era for good. What's replaced it is something genuinely delightful: the Muppets have taken over G-Force Records, and chaos (the good kind) is guaranteed.

The new storyline puts guests in the role of VIPs hunting for the missing members of the Electric Mayhem — Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd Pepper, Janice, Zoot, and Lips — who've gone AWOL just before the biggest concert of their careers. The queue runs through a redesigned G-Force Records, now managed by Scooter on behalf of his uncle J.P. Grosse, and the whole experience is packed with Muppet humor at every turn. Expect to spot Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, a penguin pit crew, and — in a first for any Disney attraction — a brand-new Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter.

The ride vehicle itself stays the same (still a super-stretch limo, now officially branded the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, or L.I.M.O.), and the track layout is unchanged. What's new is everything around it: the pre-show, the queue theming, the exterior, and most excitingly, the soundtrack.

The Set List Is a Banger

Disney tapped a who's-who roster of artists to back up the Electric Mayhem on the new ride's five-track set list:

• Song 2 – The Electric Mayhem (yes, that "Woo-hoo!" song by Blur)

• Born to Be Wild – ft. Camilla the Chicken

• Love Rollercoaster – ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove

• Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – ft. Def Leppard

• Walking on Sunshine – ft. Kelly Clarkson

The songs are randomized per ride, meaning repeat guests will get different experiences. Disney has also hinted at bonus tracks waiting to be discovered. The Electric Mayhem covering Blur is genuinely inspired, and the inclusion of Jennifer Hudson and Questlove alongside Def Leppard shows that Disney is swinging for the fences on this one.

Celebrity Cameos Throughout

Scattered throughout the queue and experience are appearances by nine celebrity guests who were apparently very willing to hang out with the Muppets — Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Neil Patrick Harris, Travis Barker, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wayne Brady, and Weird Al Yankovic. That is a remarkable lineup for a theme park queue, and it speaks to how much Hollywood loves the Muppets.

The Exterior Gets a Psychedelic Makeover

You'll know something's different before you even walk through the door. The iconic giant guitar by the attraction entrance has been repainted in vivid, psychedelic colors inspired by the classic Electric Mayhem van — a rolling nod to the band's decades-old aesthetic. The base of the guitar now features a golden key motif, a wink at Dr. Teeth and his piano. The upside-down limo on the building exterior has similarly been given the Electric Mayhem treatment.

It's the kind of exterior detailing that makes you smile before you've even queued, which is exactly what you'd expect from a Muppets attraction.

A Worthy Next Chapter

Look — saying goodbye to Aerosmith after 27 years is bittersweet for anyone who grew up riding this coaster. Steven Tyler and the gang were part of what made Hollywood Studios feel special for a generation of guests. But if there's any IP that can step into those shoes with warmth, humor, and genuine heart, it's the Muppets.

The Electric Mayhem have been a beloved part of Disney's portfolio since the 2011 theatrical comeback, and a headline attraction at the most rock-and-roll park in Orlando feels like exactly the right stage for them. The creative team has clearly put the work in here — a new Audio-Animatronic, celebrity cameos, a genuinely fun set list, a coherent new storyline — and we can't wait to ride it on May 26.
