Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill Closes at Disney Springs on September 13, Ending Nearly Three Decades of the Chef at the District

Wolfgang Puck has had his name over a door at Disney Springs since the place was still called Downtown Disney. On Sunday, September 13, that ends.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is closing permanently, WDWMagic reported Sunday morning, and WDW News Today published the same final date later that day. No reason for the closure was given, and nothing has been announced to replace it.

Quick facts: The final day of operation is Sunday, September 13, 2026. The restaurant seats 250 and sits in Town Center, across from Planet Hollywood. The concept was announced in May 2017, and the doors opened in November 2018. No reason has been given and no replacement has been announced.

The reservation calendar gave it away

The most visible public evidence is in the My Disney Experience dining calendar. When WDW News Today checked on August 30, there was nothing bookable at the restaurant through September 13. From September 14 onward the calendar flipped wide open, with slots running well into October.

WDW News Today called that split strange and, given how new the news is, laid out possibilities without landing on one. Dates past September 13 may simply not have been blocked out yet, or the restaurant may be actively canceling reservations for them. It also raises the idea that availability was reduced or removed ahead of the closing date, which would account for the empty run of days before September 13.

Three restaurants, nearly twenty nine years, and now none

Bar & Grill is the last Wolfgang Puck venue still open at the complex. Two others came before it, and both are already gone.

Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe was the starting point, opening on the West Side of what was then branded Downtown Disney in September 1997. WDW News Today describes it as a large two story venue, one that packed in a casual cafe, a sushi bar, a lounge, a dining room upstairs and a counter service Express outlet. The Grand Cafe closed its doors in August 2017, and Jaleo by José Andrés was later built on that West Side site.

A separate Wolfgang Puck Express spent years in the Marketplace neighborhood. That one shut for good in October 2020, and eet by Maneet Chauhan holds the space today.

When the doors close on September 13, there will be no Wolfgang Puck restaurant left at Disney Springs, and none has been promised.

What is still being served until then

That leaves roughly two weeks. The kitchen is running California inspired cooking with Mediterranean influences, and WDWMagic published the current prices alongside its report.

Starters run from Zeppole Cinnamon Sugar at $14 to Crab Cakes at $23, with Bruschetta with Stracciatella Cheese at $17, Crispy Chicken Wings with Sweet & Spicy Chili Soy Glaze at $18 and Truffled Potato Chips with Point Reyes Blue Cheese Sauce at $17. Salads are $18 to $21. Wood fired pizzas start at $19 for the Margherita and top out at $34 for the Smoked Salmon. Pasta runs $21 to $32, and the mains are the Viennese Chicken Schnitzel at $28 and the Puck Burger at $25.

Brunch is still on too, and it is where the ceiling is: Steak and Eggs at $49, Old School Breakfast at $27, Huevos Rancheros at $24 and French Toast at $23. At the bar, two cocktails sit at $19: the Isla Rosa Mule, built on Corazon Tequila, and the Coconut Berry Refresher, which pairs P1 Vodka with Red Bull.

One note on sourcing

Neither Disney nor Wolfgang Puck has said anything publicly about this. There is no press release, no social post from the restaurant and no statement from the chef. The Disney Parks Blog has published nothing about Walt Disney World since August 27. The September 13 date comes from WDWMagic, WDW News Today and KennythePirate, and it lines up with what the reservation system is showing.
