Pirate River Quest Has Sat on Legoland Florida's Closure List for More Than a Year With No Reopening Date, and Three More Went Dark Monday

Legoland Florida's temporary closures page lists seven things shut right now, and the interesting part is what three of the entries are missing: a date.

Pirate River Quest, The LEGOLAND Story and the Minifigure Trading Wall all appear on the list with no reopening window given at all. Everything else that is down has a range attached to it. Of those three, the trading wall is the new arrival. As recently as May the same page carried a footnote under The LEGOLAND Story reading "Minifigure Trading Wall remains open." That carve-out has gone, and the wall is now listed as closed in its own right.

The one people will notice

Pirate River Quest is the headline here. It is a 20-minute boat ride through the canals of the historic Cypress Gardens, and Legoland pitches it as a chance to "set sail with a rowdy crew of LEGO pirates on Captain's orders to explore the murky waters and retrieve the lost treasure, stolen by a troop of mischievous monkeys."

The ride's own page on legoland.com carries a banner reading "Pirate River Quest is temporarily closed. Please see the Temporary Closures page for updates." The closures page it sends you to offers no date in return, and it has not offered one for a long time. Archived captures of that page from January 12, February 28, March 14 and May 8 of this year all list Pirate River Quest exactly the same way, with no reopening window. It goes back further than that. Captures from December 4 and November 19, 2025 already carried the bare listing, and a September 14, 2025 capture has it as "Pirate River Quest (Closure starting August 4th)," the one time the page put a date on it. On that reading the ride has been shut for more than a year. Neither the closures page nor the ride's own page gives a reason for any of the three open-ended closures, or a date for their return.

What went down Monday

Four listings have dated closures, and three of them went fully dark on Monday, August 17:

Legoland Water Park and the resort hotels are both listed as "All attractions open."

The dining package wrinkle

There is one thing worth flagging if you have already bought something. Deli Takeover is closed until September 4, and it is also still listed as one of the six lunch venues you can pick from on Legoland Florida's new prepaid Dining Packages. The Dining Packages page also puts Deli Takeover inside Imagination Zone, which is itself fully closed across the same August 17 to September 4 window.

Those packages are "available online only and must be purchased before your visit," they are "non-refundable and non-transferable," and every component must be "redeemed on the same day as your visit and cannot be carried over to another date." A lunch choice that does not exist until September 4 is worth knowing about before you book rather than after.

The usual caveat

The closures page ends with a standing caveat: "Additional attractions may be closed without notice. This page highlights scheduled closures at LEGOLAND Florida Resort." The list covers scheduled closures only, so it is not a full picture of what is down on any given day.
