Treasures of Poseidon Has Been Demolished, and the Hulk Coaster Now Shows Over The Lost Continent Wall

Three weeks ago, a blue-green dome poked up over the construction wall in The Lost Continent. Now the dome is gone, and the green track of The Incredible Hulk Coaster shows over that wall instead.

Treasures of Poseidon, the gift shop that sat at the exit of Poseidon's Fury at Universal Islands of Adventure, has been torn down. WDW News Today reported it on Friday, September 25, with a photo from bioreconstruct on X showing the empty spot, which the outlet says now offers "a view straight across the Islands of Adventure lagoon to Marvel Super Hero Island."

How fast it went

The shop closed earlier this year, but it stayed out in the open until early September, when construction walls were pushed forward to enclose it. At that point its dome and facade were still plainly visible over the top of the wall.

It was still standing in mid-September. Aerial photos from bioreconstruct, published by WDW News Today on September 15, show the building intact, and the same report said the shop would be demolished "although significant work has yet to begin." So the building came down sometime in the past two weeks. Neither Universal nor WDW News Today has given an exact date.

What else has changed back there

The shop outlived the Poseidon's Fury building by only about a month. The attraction itself was completely demolished in August, and by mid-September most of The Lost Continent had been leveled.

WDW News Today's September 15 report, working from bioreconstruct's aerials, also pointed out a freshly built retaining wall near the edge of the old Poseidon's Fury footprint and a cluster of green trailers near the front of the construction site. They will serve as an interim First Aid spot while crews tear down the current station and build a replacement. Next to Mythos, a snack stand and trees have been removed.

Mythos is on the clock too

The neighbor across the walkway is not staying either. Mythos Restaurant is slated to close for good next year, and Thunder Falls Terrace, over in Jurassic Park, is set to switch to full service to take its place.

What goes in The Lost Continent's place is still the open question. Universal has not announced it. For now, the only answer is more construction wall, and a much better view of the Hulk.
