Five Guys at Universal CityWalk Will Serve a Breakfast Sandwich, Universal Says, but It Still Has No Opening Date

The Five Guys coming to Universal CityWalk will have a breakfast sandwich on the menu.

In a post on its official blog on Friday, September 18, Universal Orlando said the new location will serve a breakfast sandwich, pitched at guests on their "morning trek into Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure." The sandwich comes "with your choice of toppings, of course," the post says.

Where to find it

The post also spells out where it will be. Five Guys will be on the upper level of CityWalk, just across from Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches. To get there, Universal says you can take the escalator near the entrance or the stairs near Bigfire. There will be indoor and outdoor seating.

Back in April, FOX 35 reported that Five Guys would take over the spot then occupied by the Burger King Whopper Bar, which was set to close April 21.

What is on the menu

Beyond breakfast, Universal lists burgers, hot dogs, hand-cut fries and milkshakes. The blog says Five Guys is home to "over 250,000" burger topping combinations.

Passholder note: Universal says Premier and Preferred Passholders can use their passholder discount at Five Guys.

Still no opening date

The blog lists Five Guys as "coming soon" and does not give an opening date. When Universal first announced the restaurant in April, FOX 35 reported it was coming to CityWalk "this summer." Friday's post does not mention a season or a target, only telling readers to "stay tuned for more!"

The same blog post confirmed that Fat One's Hot Dogs & Italian Ice from Joey Fatone, also on the upper level, opens Saturday, September 19, across from Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food. We covered that one in an earlier post, and the passholder discount applies there too.

The bottom line: Universal is aiming the breakfast sandwich at guests walking through CityWalk to the parks in the morning, but Friday's post does not list Five Guys' hours or say when the restaurant will open.
