Universal Censored the Stranger Things Pie at Halloween Horror Nights, and Erica's Speech Bubble Now Says D***
Erica Sinclair would not approve. The Stranger Things pie at Halloween Horror Nights 35 has been bleeped. Its fondant speech bubble used to spell out Erica's line from the final season in full, and it now reads "I told you to eat your d*** pie!"
WDW News Today reported the change on September 14, based on a video posted by Instagram user sam.iin.wonderland that shows the sanitized topper on the treat.

What changed
The topper originally quoted the line uncensored. We reported it on August 27, the day before Halloween Horror Nights 35 opened, in our look at the Carey Candy Company, where the speech bubbles read "I told you to eat your damn pie!!!"

WDW News Today reports only the topper swap, though the price card in the video carries asterisks as well. The outlet describes the treat as a miniature vanilla cream pie that sells for $9, with Universal Sweets at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure's Island Market Candy Shop named as the places to find it. Our August 27 report, based on WDW News Today's reporting, listed it among the treats at the Carey Candy Company. We have not confirmed which of these shops is stocking it now.
WDW News Today's report does not include any comment from Universal on why the topper was changed.
Why a pie
The line comes from Stranger Things 5. In the final season, Erica uses a homemade pie laced with sedatives to knock out the Turnbow family and protect them from a Demogorgon attack. Tina Turnbow won't take a bite, so Erica pulls out a syringe and delivers the line.
Stranger Things 5 is one of the haunted houses at this year's event. Universal's own guide to HHN 2026 food and merch pairs the house with El's Battery Jerky, a mac and cheese with garlic bread and battery jerky pieces, and does not mention the pie.

Our take: the censored version is arguably funnier, since everyone knows exactly which word is missing.
