Universal Lists Its Halloween Hotel Bar Menus, From a Cursed Luau Burger on a Black Sesame Bun to Gummy Skulls at The Thirsty Fish

Universal has now listed the menus for its Halloween hotel bars in one place. A new post on the Discover Universal blog, published October 15, lists the themed drinks at nine hotel bars, plus bites at two of them, and it names the six monsters on display at the Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge, the new tiki overlay at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Back in August, we covered the themes for all nine, but beyond three drinks named at Sapphire Falls and one, The Source, at Luna Bar, Universal had pictured only a couple of items. (The Source is not on the new Luna Bar list.) Visitors have reported some of these menus since, including Attractions Magazine's September 9 review of the Laguna Lounge, but Universal's new post lists the drinks at all nine. Universal's post does not include prices.

Universal's post names six Universal Monsters at Jake's American Bar. The Creature from the Black Lagoon greets you out front, and inside, the Invisible Man and The Mummy are tending bar. Further back, the Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein's Monster and the Wolf Man are onstage beside "the silhouette of a surprise guest." Universal's own punchline for the band: "The only thing scarier than missing their set? Freeform jazz." WDW News Today reports that the lounge reuses some props, set pieces and costumes from the 2024 "Monster Hideaway" overlay at the All Hallows Eve Boutique.

  • Drinks: Black Sand Margarita (black sugar rim), Spiced Island Spirit Mule (with pumpkin spice) and Blood Moon Spritzer (Prosecco with a syringe of bitter liqueur)
  • Bites: The Devil's Volcano Eggs, Haunted Hideaway Buffalo Dip, Phantom Polynesian Linguine and the Cursed Luau Burger, with muenster, strawberry barbecue sauce and crispy onion straws on a black sesame bun

Universal's post has no prices, but Attractions Magazine reported in September that most of the Laguna Lounge cocktails were listed at $18 each.

The Thirsty Fish (Loews Portofino Bay Hotel)

The frozen fishing boat is back, and Universal says it has "the longest menu of any of the hotel bars": eight drinks and six bites.

  • Drinks: Into the Fog, Haunted Harvest (made with sake), Blood Orange Killer, Cursed Cauldron Spritz, Witches Cold Brew, What Lies Below (gummy skulls on a pick), the non-alcoholic Mutiny Cocktail and The Siren's Shot (lemon vodka and blood curacao in an ice shot glass)
  • Bites: Dead Man's Double, Sunken Sailor's Spread, Kraken Calamari, Cursed Captain's Wings, Last Reach from the Deep and Barnacle Bites

Nova Bar (Universal Stella Nova Resort) and Luna Bar (Universal Terra Luna Resort)

Nova Bar is in the middle of a hazmat cleanup. Its drinks are Containment Breach (with a crackling red energy rim), Parasite Host (with green apple popping boba), Hive Mind Protocol and the non-alcoholic Bio-Core Transmissions.

Across at Luna Bar, two rival alien factions are fighting over the place. The menu there is Blood Moon (mezcal with a smoke presentation), The Reactor, Nightshade Elixir (made with a color-changing lemon vodka) and Nebula Bloom.

The rest of the list

  • Velvet Bar, Hard Rock Hotel: Night of the Living Shred returns, and this year it reaches the outdoor Veranda Bar. Drinks: Vampire Scorner, Poison Apple and Cemetery Sunrise.
  • barVentura, Universal Aventura Hotel: aliens sit atop the lobby bar. Drinks: Alien Abduction, Wormhole Margarita (with charcoal powder) and The Caffeinated Coven. All three are also served at Bar 17 Bistro.
  • Swizzle Lounge, Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort: the Pumpkin Lord's lobby pumpkin patch, and the second-longest drink list in Universal's post: Bloody Sour, Hallow-rita, Harvest After Dark, Diablo Maria, Witching-Hour Whiskey Sour and Spicy Jack-O-Rita. Universal says Galaxy Bowl has more seasonal cocktails.
  • Loews Sapphire Falls Resort: a Gothic haunted manor in the lobby, with drinks at the lobby satellite bar or Strong Water Tavern: Witch Doctor Old Fashioned, Pumpkin Plunder and The Haunted Jungle Bird.
  • Sunset Lounge, Universal Endless Summer Resort - Dockside Inn and Suites: driftwood sculptures and two drinks, Pier of Lost Souls and Ink of the Abyss.

Hotel perks, and the nights left

Universal's post pitches these bars to its hotel guests. It also lists the perks that apply to all Universal hotel guests during the event: priority entrance to Halloween Horror Nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a room key card and an event ticket, The Keyholder Bar inside the event (which Universal said in August is also open to Passholders and Universal Rewards Cardmembers), and complimentary transportation back to the hotel at the end of the night.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs on select nights through Sunday, November 1, so there are about two weeks left to work through the list. Which one are you ordering first: the syringe spritzer, or the shot in a glass made of ice?
