You Will Soon Be Able to Make Your Own Soap at Disney's BoardWalk, as Basin on the BoardWalk Gets Its Coming Soon Page
Your next Disney souvenir might be a bar of soap you made yourself.
Walt Disney World has put up an official page for Basin on the BoardWalk, the new shop coming to Disney's BoardWalk. The page is titled "Basin on the BoardWalk - Coming Soon," and it lays out the three hands-on stations Disney first described in June. It does not list an opening date or hours yet.

What you can make
The page sums the shop up in one line: "Blend your own bath tea, make a bar of soap from scratch or emboss a soap with a personal touch at this 1920s-style apothecary-inspired shop."
Three interactive spots are named:
- A custom bath tea-blending counter
- A make-your-own-soap station
- A soap-embossing press, for stamping a bar with a personal touch
Disney has not said what any of the stations will cost, how long they take, or whether you need to book ahead. Those are the details to watch for as an opening gets closer.
What is on the shelves
Beyond the stations, Basin on the BoardWalk will be a full Basin store. Disney's page lists "natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo and conditioner bars," all handcrafted. It pitches the whole place as "a sensory shopping experience that feels both timeless and distinctly new."

Basin is no stranger to Walt Disney World. Inside the Magic notes the brand already has two stores on property, one at Disney Springs and one at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The BoardWalk shop would be the third, and Inside the Magic describes the two existing locations as stores where you browse and buy, without make-it-yourself stations like these.
Where it is going
According to WDWMagic, Basin on the BoardWalk is moving into the space that used to be the Promenade Fine Art Gallery. In WDWMagic's photo of the future storefront, the windows are screened off behind rows of potted hedges.

Still no date
Disney first announced the shop on June 18, when the Disney Parks Blog said a wave of new BoardWalk experiences would open "starting in late 2026." The new page does not narrow that down. WDWMagic points out that a page going live usually means an opening is getting closer, but nothing official has been set.
Basin is part of a bigger BoardWalk refresh. Hurly-Burly, the new lounge in the former Jellyrolls space, has already opened, and a new quick-service restaurant is still to come. WDWMagic reports that restaurant is set to replace Big River Grille & Brewing Works.

Would you spend part of a BoardWalk evening making your own bar of soap, or is bath tea more your speed?
