SeaWorld's New Spooktacular Map Names a Peek-a-Boo! Maze and a Monster Movez Dance Party, and Neither Name Appears Anywhere Else
SeaWorld Orlando put a new Halloween Spooktacular park map on its website on Monday morning. Its legend lists seven things to find. Two of those names do not appear anywhere else.
The two new names
Peek-a-Boo! Maze. On the map it is drawn as a grey tombstone-shaped sign carrying a bat, a small white ghost and a jack-o'-lantern, sitting just below and to the left of the Journey to Atlantis label as the map is drawn. A walk-through maze is not new to Spooktacular. SeaWorld has run a Harvest Maze in past years, most recently in 2025, when ThrillGeek reported it had been given a Spookley theme. The Harvest Maze name does not appear anywhere on SeaWorld's 2026 Spooktacular pages, the August 14 announcement did not mention a maze at all, and SeaWorld has not used the Peek-a-Boo name anywhere. Whether the Peek-a-Boo! Maze is the Harvest Maze under a new name, or something new for Hotel Transylvania, SeaWorld has not said.
Monster Movez. The logo puts Mavis on the left, mid-dance, and Johnny on the right with his arms flung up, around a purple mirror ball that forms the O in MOVEZ. It sits near the top of the map, between Journey to Atlantis and the Antarctica area. The artwork makes clear this is the Hotel Transylvania dance party, which until now had gone by nothing more specific than that.
What SeaWorld announced on August 14
SeaWorld announced Hotel Transylvania's arrival at Spooktacular on August 14. As reported at the time, that announcement covered two Hotel Transylvania offerings: Monster Dread & Breakfast, a separately ticketed character meal at a transformed SeaFire Inn, and a Hotel Transylvania dance party with Mavis and Johnny as the hosts. The dance party was given no name beyond that description, and there was no maze.
Not on SeaWorld's own pages
Neither name has made it into SeaWorld's own text. A search of the Spooktacular event page and all three of its sub-pages returns no hits for "Monster Movez," for "Peek-a-Boo" or for "maze." Neither name appears anywhere else on SeaWorld's Orlando site. The Halloween Fun page still describes the Hotel Transylvania offering generically and lists the rest of the lineup by name: Spookley the Square Pumpkin, the Trick-or-Treat Trail, the Spooky Bubble Trail, the Sesame Street Halloween Parade, Halloween Storytime with Big Bird, Meet a Mermaid, the Scarecrow Halloween Dance Parade, the Pumpkin Garden and Storytime, and the Teal Pumpkin Program.
When it went up
The map file is served from SeaWorld's own media library, and its Last-Modified header reads Monday, August 24, 2026 at 14:26 GMT, which is 10:26 a.m. Eastern. SeaWorld did not announce the update. The file sits in a spook subfolder inside SeaWorld's Howl-O-Scream 2026 media directory. It is displayed full width on the Spooktacular event page, above a Download Map link, but nothing in the page text around it flags what the legend now names.
One more thing on the map
What appears to be the Spooky Bubble Trail is drawn on the map, unlabeled, as a line of bare purple trees with bubbles drifting between them, running away from the Peek-a-Boo! Maze across the woods above Dolphin Stadium. It is not in the legend, even though it is described on the Halloween Fun page as a place where "little ghouls can chase, pop, and play with floating fog-filled bubbles on their way to trick-or-treat."
SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular runs on select dates from August 29 through November 1 and is included with park admission.
