EPCOT's Candlelight Processional Will Start 30 Minutes Earlier in 2026 Than It Did in 2023

Disney published the 2026 EPCOT Candlelight Processional narrator lineup on Tuesday, and alongside the celebrity names is a schedule change that applies to every night of the run. The three nightly performances move to 4:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the America Gardens Theatre, 15 minutes earlier apiece than the 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. times Disney ran in 2025.

This is the second time in three years Disney has slid the whole card 15 minutes earlier. The 2023 shows started at 5:15 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Disney moved them to 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. for 2024, held those times through 2025, and has now moved them again. The first show in 2026 starts a full 30 minutes earlier than it did three years ago, and the last one ends earlier by the same margin.

One difference from last time: when Disney made the same 15 minute move for 2024, the announcement said so in plain language. The 2026 times were published as a bare list with no note that anything had changed. Anyone planning off last year's schedule could reach America Gardens Theatre with the first show already underway.

The full 2026 lineup: Nov. 27 and 28, Auli'i Cravalho. Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, Gary Sinise. Dec. 2 and 3, to be announced. Dec. 4 and 5, Whoopi Goldberg. Dec. 6 and 7, Robin Roberts. Dec. 8 and 9, Jason Kelce. Dec. 10 to 12, Neil Patrick Harris. Dec. 13 and 14, to be announced. Dec. 15 and 16, Lauren Daigle. Dec. 17 to 19, Ralph Macchio. Dec. 20 and 21, Henry Winkler. Dec. 22 and 23, Lacey Chabert. Dec. 24 and 25, Jodi Benson. Dec. 26 and 27, Simu Liu. Dec. 28 to 30, Eva Longoria.

Two dates are blank, and 2022 tells you what happens next

Two of the 15 blocks are unfilled: Dec. 2 and 3, a Wednesday and Thursday, and Dec. 13 and 14, a Sunday and Monday. Both read "to be announced."

That is a change from 2025 and 2024, when Disney announced complete lineups with no placeholders. It is not unprecedented. Disney's initial 2022 lineup, published September 26 that year, carried two TBD blocks in exactly the same way (Nov. 25 to 26 and Dec. 7 to 9). The full roster followed on October 7, eleven days later.

The useful part of that precedent is the timing. In 2022, dining packages went on sale October 6, one day before Disney finished the lineup, so anyone who wanted a guaranteed seat on a TBD night had to book it blind. In 2026 the calendar is friendlier. The lineup landed September 8 and Candlelight Processional Dining Packages open October 14, a 36 day gap. If Disney fills the blanks at anything like the 2022 pace, the names arrive well before booking opens.

That is a pattern, not a promise. If you need a guaranteed seat on December 2, 3, 13 or 14 and Disney has not named a narrator by October 14, the choice is booking a package without knowing who is on the podium or taking your chances on the first come, first served standby seating.

Worth knowing either way: a named narrator is not a guarantee. In 2025 Disney swapped Susan Egan in for Jennifer Garner on the December 3 and 4 dates after the lineup was published and packages were already selling.

Three new narrators, which is the 2024 number

Disney tagged three of the 2026 narrators as new to the Candlelight Processional: Robin Roberts, the Good Morning America co-anchor; Jason Kelce, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center now working as a broadcaster; and Lacey Chabert, a fixture of Hallmark's Christmas movie slate.

Ten of the filled blocks go to narrators who have read the story at America Gardens before, and two are still open. Four of the returning names (Gary Sinise, Ralph Macchio, Henry Winkler and Lauren Daigle) are back from the 2025 lineup specifically.

Three new narrators looks thin next to 2025, when Disney tagged eight of 15 blocks as new. It is exactly the 2024 count, though, and 2023 went the other way with nine. The roster churn swings year to year, and with two blocks still empty the final 2026 number is not settled yet.

34 nights, and the five year context

The 2026 run covers Nov. 27 through Dec. 30, which is 34 nights and 102 performances at three shows a night. That is one night longer than 2025, and shorter than 2022 (36 nights) and 2023 (37 nights). Only 2024, at 32 nights, was shorter in the last five years.

The extra night over 2025 is a calendar artifact rather than a decision. Disney opens the Candlelight Processional the day after Thanksgiving every year and ends it December 30 every year. Thanksgiving simply falls a day earlier in 2026 (Nov. 26) than it did in 2025 (Nov. 27), so the run picks up a night at the front.

Disney has not given a reason for the earlier show times.

What the dining package includes

The package covers breakfast, lunch or dinner at a participating EPCOT restaurant, with an entree and dessert or a buffet, plus one beverage (alcoholic for guests 21 and older). After the meal you receive a reserved seating badge for a specific show time. Disney says the seat itself is guaranteed but still recommends arriving early for the best view within the reserved section.

Disney has not yet published the participating restaurant list or 2026 package pricing. Those have typically landed closer to the booking date in past years.

What to do with this

Move any Candlelight plan built on last year's schedule 15 minutes earlier, and check the times again if you are working from a 2023 or 2024 trip report, because those are 30 and 15 minutes off respectively. Booking opens October 14 for a run that starts November 27. Standby seating stays free and unreserved all season, which remains the fallback if the two blank dates are still blank when the booking window opens.
