Legoland Florida Added Two More Rides to Its Closure List This Afternoon, and They Go Down the Same Day Kid Power Towers Comes Back
Legoland Florida's Temporary Closures page changed at 4:23 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, by the timestamp on the resort's own sitemap, and two rides that were not on it before now are.
Coast Guard Academy and Merlin's Challenge are both listed as closed from October 5 to October 24. The page just says so, in the same plain bulleted list. Neither ride was on that list in late August, when it carried five Legoland Park entries.

The handoff
What makes this worth a second look is the timing rather than the closures themselves.
The two dated Legoland Park closures already on the list are the ones coming back. The Great LEGO Race is down from September 8 to October 2. Kid Power Towers is down from September 8 to October 4. Coast Guard Academy and Merlin's Challenge then start on October 5, the same day Kid Power Towers reopens.
There is no gap. The Great LEGO Race is back October 3, Kid Power Towers October 5, and Coast Guard Academy and Merlin's Challenge go down that same day, so at least one of these four rides stays closed continuously from September 8 through October 24, straight through the middle of Brick or Treat.
How many event nights this costs
Brick or Treat runs 18 nights: September 5, 6, 12, 19 and 26, then October 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31. Line the four closure windows up against that list and the picture is lopsided.

The Great LEGO Race misses three event nights. Kid Power Towers misses five. Coast Guard Academy and Merlin's Challenge miss eight apiece. Three plus five is eight, so each of the new closures on its own costs as many event nights as both of the earlier ones added together.
Thirteen of the 18 nights have at least one of the four closed. Only five nights have all four running: September 5 and 6, which have already happened, and October 25, 30 and 31 at the very end of the season.
One caveat on that number. It counts only these four dated closures. Pirate River Quest also sits on the list with no dates attached at all, and with no reopening date published, it should not be counted as open on those nights either.
Who actually loses out
Both new closures are rides with low height requirements. Coast Guard Academy has a minimum rider height of 34 inches. Merlin's Challenge is 36 inches. On both, guests under 48 inches need a responsible rider aged 14 or older.
Legoland describes the Coast Guard Academy boat as a "family-friendly vessel" you steer "along the windy waterway, spotting LEGO Minifigure models along the way." Merlin's Challenge is "a mysterious wooden train ride powered by the wizard's magic," which the park says is "absolutely thrilling for small riders as the train goes up and down over the tracks."
So the two rides coming out in October are two of the ones aimed squarely at small children, during a Halloween event built for young families.

What else is on the list
The rest of the Temporary Closures page is short. Pirate River Quest is listed with no dates. Over at Peppa Pig Theme Park, Mr. Bull's High Striker is down from September 8 to September 25. The water park and the resort hotels both read "All attractions open."
The page carries its usual hedge: "Additional attractions may be closed without notice. This page highlights scheduled closures at LEGOLAND Florida Resort."
Worth knowing if you are booking
Brick or Treat is included with general park admission, so there is no separate event ticket riding on this. But if you are picking a date around the youngest member of your group, the last three event nights are the cleaner window. October 25, 30 and 31 are the only remaining nights with all four of these rides scheduled to run.
