Both Sunshine Churros Kiosks at Disney Springs Serve Their Last Today, and Disney's New Churro Lineup Skips Disney Springs Entirely

If you want one more churro from Sunshine Churros, today is the whole window. Both kiosks at Disney Springs, one on the West Side and one in the Marketplace, close permanently at the end of operations on Saturday, September 5. Disney's own pages list both stands as operating 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

WDWMagic reported the closure on Friday afternoon and WDW News Today followed less than half an hour later, crediting WDWMagic as the outlet that first shared it. Neither could point to an announcement, because as of now there is not one.

What Disney has said publicly: nothing. As WDW News Today put it, "At the time of this writing, Disney has not officially announced the closure or what will be replacing the stands."

What is on the menu until closing

Two churros and four drinks. That is the entire lineup, per the menu WDWMagic published:

  • Classic Churro (cinnamon sugar), $6.25
  • Gourmet Churro, $7.99, sold in six flavors, each with a drizzle and a dipping sauce: Dulce de Leche, Oreo Cheesecake, Grandma's Homemade Apple Pie, Salted Caramel Delight, Fruity Pebble Cereal, or Strawberry Cheesecake
  • DASANI bottled water, $5.00
  • Assorted bottled beverages, $5.00
  • smartwater, $6.00
  • POWERADE, $5.00

WDWMagic describes the stands this way: "Sunshine Churros opened as a churro-focused kiosk offering classic and gourmet options at both ends of Disney Springs. Saturday marks the final day you can grab one from either spot on the West Side or Marketplace."

The West Side Sunshine Churros kiosk with its service window closed behind a flat gray panel, no staff and no product visible, under an angled white canopy on black posts with film reel shaped pulleys, empty queue stanchions in front and the Art Deco Trans-Global Airways facade behind

Two days earlier, Disney published a churro expansion

On September 3, the Disney Parks Blog published a fall food roundup with a dedicated Churros section. Its pitch: "Get ready to taste all-new renditions of this classic Disney eat! That's right; everyone's favorite park day pick-me-up is getting a delicious new selection of flavors."

Ten churro items are on that list. Here is where Disney is putting them:

  • Bavarian Cream-filled Churros with Chocolate Sauce, Anaheim Produce at Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • DOLE Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae, Warung Outpost at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Happy Landings at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park (coming in 2027)
  • Cookie Butter Mini Churros, Ice Cold Hydraulics at Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Maple Bacon Churro Fries, Avalunch at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
  • Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT
  • Chocolate-filled Mini Churros, Market at Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Churro Overdrive, Energy Bytes at Magic Kingdom Park
  • Cookies and Cream Mini Churros, Popcorn and Snacks at Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Churro-misu Cold Brew, Isle of Java at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Family Churros, 21 bite-size churros with sprinkles plus chocolate and caramel dips, Mission Space Cart at EPCOT

That covers all four theme parks and both water parks, though the Typhoon Lagoon location is listed as coming in 2027. It does not include a single Disney Springs location. Disney Springs does appear elsewhere in the same post, in the slush, specialty beverage and cocktail sections, so the district was not left out of the roundup. It was left out of the churros.

Neither the Parks Blog post nor either closure report mentions the other, and nothing suggests the two were coordinated. Set side by side, though, the churro lineup grows across the resort in the same week Disney Springs loses the two stands built around them.

What we do not know

Three things. Whether anything takes over either kiosk structure. Whether the closure is tied to a lease or vendor arrangement rather than a Disney decision. And whether the Marketplace stand and the West Side stand are going for the same reason.

As of Saturday evening, both official venue pages, one for the West Side stand and one for the Marketplace stand, were still live and still listing operating hours of 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with no closure notice on either.

If you are heading to Disney Springs today, both kiosks carry the same sign, a yellow half-sun above a black oval reading Sunshine Churros. After tonight, neither one reopens.
