Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Is Now on Display as a Scale Model in Walt Disney Presents at Hollywood Studios

Lakeshore Lodge does not open until July 1, 2027, but you can already see the whole thing laid out in front of you, as long as you don't mind it being table-sized. WDW News Today reported on October 17 that a scale model of the Bay Lake resort now sits inside Walt Disney Presents at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The display sits near the end of the Walt Disney Presents walkthrough, just before the attraction's main theater. Along with the model, it includes concept art and a few smaller pieces about the resort's nature-themed design. WDWNT did not say exactly when it went up.

What the model shows

Six pieces of concept art Disney had already released hang above the table: the overall layout, the fireworks lounge, the lobby, waterfront dining, the recreation area and an A-frame Lake House. The model below pulls all of those into one view, which makes it much easier to see how the pieces fit together.

  • The lobby: near the center of the resort, with wide glass walls, steep overlapping roof sections and a porte-cochère.
  • The Wetlands: the larger courtyard holds the bright blue Lakeshore Lagoon feature pool, the Otter Springs water-play area and a lazy river that winds between landscaped islands, with bridges crossing it.
  • Cypress Point: the smaller second pool sits in its own courtyard near the shoreline, with a hotel wing between it and the main recreation area.
  • Waterfront dining: a low building on a tree-covered spit of land just ahead of the main pool courtyard echoes the waterfront dining concept art. WDWNT notes that construction photos have shown roofing work on Moonglade, the resort's lakefront restaurant.
  • The pier: a long pier runs out into Bay Lake and ends at a covered dock with two boarding areas.

The Lake Houses get their own corners

The A-frame Lake Houses appear in clusters at both ends of the waterfront. One group follows the shoreline near the main recreation area. The other lines a narrow, tree-lined strip of land with water on both sides, its houses linked by a winding path. Seen from above, it is clear how these houses sit apart from the main lodge, with trees spacing out each one from its neighbors.

They will not come cheap. In the starting rates WDWNT reported once booking opened to all guests on October 8, the Lake Houses ran $2,353 a night for one bedroom and $2,942 for two.

A sparrow, two deer and three paintings

Next to the model is a small bronze-colored bird sculpture labeled "Sparrow Maquette," shown with a drawing of a similar bird in flight. WDWNT points out that "The label does not identify where the sparrow will appear within the completed resort."

Two more drawings show what appears to be a young Bambi and an adult doe. Bambi is the film behind the resort's Deluxe Studios and its one- and two-bedroom villas.

An easel nearby holds three paintings labeled "Inspirational Resort Room Artwork": northern lights over a snowy mountain, a mountain stream framed by autumn trees, and two bears on a ledge above a river valley. That last one lines up with the Brother Bear artwork Disney announced for the Lake House interiors.

Where Lakeshore Lodge stands

Disney's Lakeshore Lodge is going up on Bay Lake, on the former River Country site between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. WDWNT puts it at 967 accommodations, from studios and suites to villas and the waterfront Lake Houses, and it opens July 1, 2027. The project was first announced in 2018 as Reflections, A Disney Lakeside Lodge, stalled during the pandemic, and came back under its new name in 2024.

If you are at Hollywood Studios, it is worth a detour. Have you booked a stay yet, or are you waiting to see the real thing first?
