EPCOT's Rose & Crown Pub Now Closes Too, From January 11, and Neither It Nor the Dining Room Is Expected Back Until Later in 2027

Last week the plan was simple: lose the Rose & Crown dining room for a few weeks next spring, keep the pint. That plan is gone. Disney has rewritten its closure notice, and the Rose & Crown Pub in EPCOT's United Kingdom pavilion is now closing too.

Disney's official pages for both locations now carry the same notice. The Dining Room page reads: "Starting January 11, 2027, the Rose & Crown Dining Room and Rose & Crown Pub will be temporarily closed for planned maintenance. Both locations are expected to reopen later in 2027."

What changed since last week

When we first reported this on October 7 (our earlier story), Disney's notice said the Dining Room alone would close from February 15 through early spring, while the Pub and the Yorkshire County Fish Shop kept operating. The new notice changes all three parts of that:

  • Start date: Monday, January 11, 2027, instead of Monday, February 15. That is five weeks earlier.
  • What closes: the Rose & Crown Dining Room and the Rose & Crown Pub, instead of the Dining Room alone.
  • Reopening: "later in 2027," instead of early spring. Disney has not given a specific date.

Disney still has not said what the "planned maintenance" involves. Blog Mickey, which reported the change on Tuesday, suggests that a closure this much longer, now taking in the Pub as well, points to more than the originally planned work, perhaps a larger refresh. That is a reasonable guess, but it is a guess: Disney has not announced any changes to the decor or the menu.

What about the fish and chips?

Yorkshire County Fish Shop, the pavilion's quick-service fish and chips stand, is not named in Disney's new notice. Disney's first notice said it would stay open during the dining room work, and its own page carried no closure notice when we checked on Tuesday evening. Blog Mickey assumes that is still the plan. We would bet on it too, but Disney has not said so in the new wording.

Planning around it

Sunday, January 10 should be the last day for both. Counting today, that leaves 90 days to get in a last pint at the pub or a last dinner in the dining room. If you are booking EPCOT for January or later in 2027, plan on getting your British fix somewhere other than the pub, and keep an eye on Disney's pages for a firm reopening date.

Will you squeeze in a last pint before January 11, or is this the excuse to finally try somewhere new in World Showcase?
