Universal Celestial Goodnight, the New Epic Universe Nighttime Show, Debuts July 7 in Celestial Park
Universal Orlando Resort just announced a new nightly spectacular for Universal Epic Universe, a long-running ask from fans who wanted a bigger nighttime moment than the existing Cosmos Fountain show. It is called Universal Celestial Goodnight, it debuts Tuesday, July 7, 2026, and it runs every night after that in Celestial Park, the hub world at the center of Epic Universe.

The headlines:
- Show name (official): Universal Celestial Goodnight.
- Debut: Tuesday, July 7, 2026, then nightly.
- Location: Celestial Park, the central hub world of Epic Universe.
- Tech specs (per Universal): nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, over 350 larger-than-life fountains, and seven million LED lights embedded throughout Celestial Park.
- The four portal worlds honored: SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, and Dark Universe.
- Finale: "a spectacular fireworks finale that will illuminate the nighttime sky" (per the press release).
What Universal says the show actually is
The June 15 press release describes it as a show that will "envelop all of Celestial Park into a captivating display of dancing fountains, breathtaking lighting effects, and a spectacular fireworks finale," and that "pays tribute to the inspiring characters and adventures found within the portals of Epic Universe." In other words: fountains, architectural lighting, and a fireworks finale, paying tribute to the four portal worlds that branch off Celestial Park.
Universal credits the show to its own entertainment team, calling it the work of the resort's "award-winning entertainment team."
Why this matters for Epic Universe
Since Epic Universe opened, the lack of a nightly nighttime show has been a frequent point of discussion among fans and trade press. Attractions Magazine framed today's announcement explicitly as Universal filling that gap, while Orlando ParkStop positioned it as an upgrade to the existing Cosmos Fountain. Celestial Park's layout puts the four portal entrances around the hub, which gives the show a built-in geometry to work with.
The press release groups all three figures (nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, over 350 fountains, and seven million LED lights embedded throughout Celestial Park) together as the technical scope of the show.
What the rest of the resort is doing this summer
The big secondary Universal beat this week is on the other side of Universal Studios Florida, where the new Hollywood Drift coaster has begun bunny-hop track installation beneath the 170-foot vertical spike (see our June 11 dispatch). Over at Islands of Adventure, the Lost Continent demolition continues, with the iconic Poseidon's Fury trident coming down this week to make room for an unannounced project.
Quick planner notes
- If you are visiting Epic Universe before July 7, the show is not yet running. Plan accordingly if a nighttime spectacular is on your must-do list.
- Sightlines: Celestial Park's hub-and-spoke layout, centered on the Cosmos Fountain, suggests viewing should work from much of the central hub. Universal has not yet posted a recommended viewing location.
- The show runs nightly going forward, so unlike a one-night event, you will not need to schedule a specific date.
