SeaWorld Is Giving the First 1,000 Kids a Free Trick-or-Treat Bag Saturday and Sunday, and Its Own Page Names Two Pickup Spots
At Spooktacular, the trick-or-treating comes with a parenthetical: SeaWorld's own event page ties it to buying a reusable bag. For two days this weekend, the first 1,000 kids get that bag for nothing.
SeaWorld's September pass member news page was last updated at 10:45 a.m. Eastern on Friday. Four items on that page are tagged "NEW!" This one alone is tagged "ADDED!" The first 1,000 kids aged 12 and under with an active Annual Pass or Preschool Card get a free trick-or-treat bag on Saturday, September 12 or Sunday, September 13. The disclaimer clarifies that the 1,000 cap resets: it is the first 1,000 each day.

The short version: free trick-or-treat bag, September 12 or 13 only, first 1,000 kids each day, ages 12 and under, active Annual Pass or Preschool Card required, child must be present, while supplies last. One bag per qualifying child.
Two answers for where to get it
Here is the part worth sorting out before you drive over. The body copy and the fine print on the same page send you to two different places.
The main write-up says children "will receive a FREE trick-or-treat bag at Under the Sun Shoppes at Waterfront." The disclaimer further down the page says something else: "Child must be present with their Annual Pass or Preschool Card to redeem at the park entrance."
Those are not the same spot. SeaWorld's own shopping directory names the store Under the Sun and places it among the shops inside the Shoppes at Waterfront, well inside the park. The two lines have not been reconciled, and the likeliest explanation is a copy slip rather than two genuine pickup points. Still, with a hard cap of 1,000 bags a day, the safe move is to ask at the gate on the way in rather than walk to Waterfront and find out. The same disclaimer carries a small typo of its own, listing "an active Annual Pass Preschool Card" with the word "or" missing, while the body copy has it right.
Why a free bag actually matters here
Spooktacular is SeaWorld's daytime Halloween event, included with park admission, running select dates from August 29 through November 1. It is the family-friendly counterpart to Howl-O-Scream, which opens its own season tonight.
The catch is in the parentheses. SeaWorld's own event page describes the draw as "Kids love trick-or-treating (with purchase of reusable bag) during this daytime event as they explore our decorated trail and meet colorful characters." The event is included with admission. The activity at the center of it is not, quite. The page's FAQ confirms the transaction plainly, answering "Can I use my pass discount to purchase a Trick or Treat bag?" with "Yes, Pass Member discounts apply."
So for two days, for a capped number of children, the thing you normally buy to take part is free. SeaWorld says as much in the offer itself, calling the free bag "perfect to use during Spooktacular to collect candy around the park."
It is not the $3.99 bag
One limit is worth reading carefully. The disclaimer states the offer is "Not available for the Pass Member exclusive trick-or-treat bag," so this is not a way to get the branded one at no charge.

The paid bag may not even be on shelves yet. SeaWorld's listing says it "will be available soon" through October 31, while the next line tells Pass Members they can buy it for $3.99 plus any pass discount at the shops it names: The SeaWorld Store, Stroller Rental, Trek Gifts, Coconut Bay Traders and Currents at Waterfront. SeaWorld's own shopping directory calls one of those Trek Treasures rather than Trek Gifts. The free bag carries a caveat of its own: SeaWorld says its "design may vary."
The event page has not been told
As of Friday afternoon the giveaway is confined to the pass member page. The Halloween Spooktacular event page carries no mention of it, and SeaWorld's own sitemap shows as much: that page was last modified on August 25, seventeen days before the pass member page was updated. A family planning a Spooktacular visit from the event page alone would never learn the bag was free this weekend.

Fun Card holders are out on this one, and the offer's own terms are the reason: it asks for an active Annual Pass or Preschool Card, and a Fun Card is neither. The page also carries a blanket disclaimer saying its offers are "Not valid for Fun Card, Florida Teacher Card, Preschool Card, Friends & Family Pass, or Transferable Pass." That line sits awkwardly against the page it is printed on. This offer's headline and its own disclaimer both name Preschool Card holders outright, and a separate item on the same page hands $10 in SeaWorld Bucks to Fun Card holders. The blanket text is boilerplate; the terms attached to each offer are what govern. Preschool Card holders should also note that 2026 registration has closed and a 2027 priority list is open in its place, though cards registered and activated earlier this year stay valid through December 31, 2026.
