SeaWorld Posted the Howl-O-Scream Map a Day Before Opening Night, and It Gives The Rewind the Location Its Food Page Left Blank

On Tuesday, SeaWorld's Taste the Terror page finally gave four of its five new Howl-O-Scream bars a venue and left The Rewind with nothing at all. We flagged it at the time as the one bar still missing an address. The map went up Thursday afternoon, at 1:25 p.m. Eastern, about 30 hours before opening night, and The Rewind is on it.

The quick facts: the 2026 Howl-O-Scream map is now on SeaWorld's attractions page. The Rewind sits just inside the event entrance, next to Guest Services and the Howl-O-Flix gift shop. The map is consistent with the four venue assignments the food page gave on Tuesday. It also shows something neither text page said, which is that most of the new bars have been placed beside the house or scare zone they share a theme with. Howl-O-Scream runs select evenings from September 11 through October 31.

What the map adds to Tuesday's list

The food page put Resurrection Club at Glacier Bar, Byte Bar at Waterway Bar, Black Sheep at Flamecraft Bar and Larva Lounge at Pipeline Carnival Bar. The map is consistent with all four, though for the bars it prints only the Howl-O-Scream names and never the daytime venue behind them: Byte Bar is up by Waterway Grill, which is where Waterway Bar sits, Larva Lounge is right by Pipeline, Resurrection Club is beside Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, and Black Sheep is on the west side of the lake. The one that had no venue in parentheses, The Rewind, now has a position on the ground, at the front of the event beside scare zone A.

The bars are sitting on top of the haunts they echo

The other thing the map does is make a pattern visible that the text pages never spelled out. Read it against SeaWorld's own descriptions of the five bars and four of the five sit next to the haunt whose theme they echo.

Resurrection Club is the one we could half guess already. Its blurb is a single sentence, that "pulse-pounding beats, electric energy and killer cocktails bring the Rave Yard back to life," which was the only bar blurb on any SeaWorld page that named a haunt outright. The map confirms it literally: the bar sits directly beside house 2, The Rave Yard.

The Black Sheep is placed on the west side of the park beside the marker for scare zone E, Dooms District, a few steps from the Hellzapoppin show. SeaWorld describes it as "a doomsday watering hole where survivalists crack open the canned goods, pour the drinks and toast to making it another night." The doomsday bar is in the district named Dooms.

Larva Lounge is the one that gets sandwiched. It sits between scare zone F, Extermination Order, and house 5, The Crawl Space. SeaWorld's line for it is that "pest control has never tasted this good." So the bug bar has been dropped between the extermination zone and the underground tunnel house.

The Rewind anchors the front of the event. It sits just inside the entrance alongside scare zone A, Nekrosis, and it is also the venue for the Dead Air show, which the attractions page lists with the location "The Rewind Bar." The bar's own pitch is a nineties one, "stacks of VHS tapes, ringing landlines, glowing arcade lights and the unmistakable screech of dial-up," and Nekrosis is the event's Y2K zone. The gift shop next to it is called Howl-O-Flix, and SeaWorld's Nekrosis write-up folds it into the fiction as "a video store frozen in time." The whole corner is one bit.

The one that breaks the pattern

Byte Bar is the exception. SeaWorld's copy has "cyborg vampires" serving drinks in a digital underworld, which pairs naturally with house 4, The Dark Net. On the map they are both on the north side of the park, but they are not neighbors: Byte Bar is over by Waterway Grill and The Dark Net is across by Dockside Pizza Co. If you were planning to do the cyber house and the cyber bar back to back, that is most of the way around the north end of the park.

Other things the map settles

• The event has its own Event Entrance and a separate Event Exit, both near Guest Services at the front of the park.
• VIP Terror Tour Check-In is marked in the front plaza, just north of Guest Services and a short walk inside the Event Entrance.
• The legend includes a Front Line Fear Redemption icon, and three skulls are printed on the map: one by Resurrection Club, one over by The Black Sheep, and one in the front plaza between VIP Terror Tour Check-In and scare zone A.
• Four rides are marked on the map: Mako, Ice Breaker, Pipeline and Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice. The attractions page says all four will operate through the night.
• The four shows are placed too: Monster Stomp up by Mako, Throttle on the west side of the lake, Hellzapoppin beside The Black Sheep, and Dead Air at The Rewind.
• The map carries the event's own warnings in print. A green outlined box on the left panel reads "EVENT CONTAINS INTENSE ADULT CONTENT SUCH AS VIOLENCE, GORE & BLOOD" under the word "Warning!", and below that box, flanked by red brush strokes, sits "NO RE-ENTRY".
• A strip across the bottom cross-promotes the daytime family event. The SeaWorld Spooktacular logo sits at the left over "NOW - NOV. 1" and "SELECT DATES", with "COME BACK FOR THE SWEETER SIDE OF HALLOWEEN" in orange caps beside it.

How we know it went up Thursday

The map file is served with a last modified timestamp of Thursday September 10, 2026 at 17:25:27 GMT, which is 1:25 p.m. Eastern. That stamp holds on a cache-busted request that misses the CDN, so it is the origin's own date rather than an edge artifact. Every other 2026 Howl-O-Scream image on the site carries an older stamp. The next most recent are three Taste the Terror images from Tuesday September 8: a pepperoni pizza slice, the photo of two tacos and a cocktail that SeaWorld uses for its Tasting Lanyard product card, and a Fanta branded Fright House graphic showing four mocktails and cocktails. All three came in the same page refresh we wrote about that day. There has been no press release and no blog post. The map simply appeared on the page.
