SEAQuest Was Announced as SeaWorld Orlando's 2026 Headliner, and With Four Months Left Its Ride Page Says Only Coming Soon

September 1 leaves four months in 2026, which makes this a reasonable morning to check on the ride SeaWorld Orlando announced as its next big one. SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep still does not have an opening date, and SeaWorld's own page for it no longer gives the ride a year.

The page describes the attraction as "the world's first-of-its-kind suspended dark ride" and then leaves the timing open in three separate places. It opens with "Coming Soon, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep takes families...", it headlines the section "SeaWorld Orlando's Next Big Adventure Surfaces Soon", and it says the ride is coming soon "within a newly expanded area of the park".

That is a change from how SeaWorld first described it. The park's own December 2025 blog post opens: "SeaWorld Orlando is creating a thrilling new course for 2026 with SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep."

What SEAQuest actually is

SeaWorld announced the attraction on September 17, 2025, and revealed the ride vehicle at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando that November. The manufacturer is Vekoma Rides. SeaWorld describes the vehicle as vibrant yellow with blue accents, built to rotate a full 360 degrees while it swings, with an onboard sound system.

The premise, in SeaWorld's words, is a trip "deep into glowing underwater worlds, past sunken shipwrecks, and alongside mythical sea creatures". Attractions Magazine, drawing on SeaWorld's announcement, adds that riders follow a fictional SEA Collective Adventure Team and that the ride ends with "a spectacular finale launch".

Ricardo Tonding Etges, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Vekoma Rides, said of the ride system in SeaWorld's December blog post: "This ride system is completely unique, it's years in the making and unlike anything on the market."

The pass pitch is still on the page

The same ride page that gives no date still sells a pass on the promise of riding first. Under a heading reading "Be Among the First to Ride", it says: "The only way to guarantee first-to-ride access is with a 2026 Annual Pass".

That is the wrinkle worth knowing about before you buy. A 2026 Annual Pass is being offered as the route to riding SEAQuest first, on a page that no longer commits to SEAQuest opening in 2026.

Attractions Magazine says it has asked the park to confirm whether the 2026 target still stands. As of its August 11 update the outlet still describes SEAQuest as a ride that will "hopefully open in late 2026". Its article states that "An exact opening date has not been revealed and as of Aug. 11, SeaWorld has not announced an opening date," and notes the ride is mentioned on SeaWorld's page of reasons to buy a 2027 Fun Card. The outlet has not published an update on that question since.

One caveat worth stating plainly

A missing year on a web page is not by itself proof of a delay, and parts of SeaWorld's site do give reason for caution. Its own "what's new" page does not mention SEAQuest at all, and still leads with "Penguin Trek - Coming in 2024". The SEAQuest page is a different case, though. Archived copies show that on February 14, 2026 all three of those lines still carried the year: two of them read "Opening in 2026", and the section heading read "SeaWorld Orlando's Next Big Adventure Surfaces in 2026". By the March 12 capture all three had been changed to "Coming Soon" and "Surfaces Soon", and they have stayed that way through every capture since. In each of the three, only the timing words changed and the rest of the sentence stayed identical.

What is documented is narrower, and it is this: SeaWorld called SEAQuest a 2026 attraction in its own December blog post, the live ride page now says only "Coming Soon", the park has not announced an opening date, and Attractions Magazine reported as recently as August 11 that none had been announced. Four months of 2026 remain for that to change.

If you are buying a pass on this: the first-to-ride language is tied to a 2026 Annual Pass, and SEAQuest has no announced opening date. Treat the ride as unscheduled until SeaWorld posts one.
