SeaWorld's Howl-O-Scream Menu Has a Cricket Tres Leches and a Card That Spells It Pizza Roles, While Its Own Food Page Says Coming Soon
SeaWorld is putting crickets on a tres leches cake this Halloween. That is not a rumour or a rendering. The cake was sitting on a plate at a media preview last week with SeaWorld's own name card propped beside it, reading CRICKET TRES LECHES.
The Howl-O-Scream 2026 food lineup came out with the rest of the event lineup on Wednesday, August 26, just over two weeks before an event that opens September 11. It is the piece SeaWorld has published the least about. Go looking for the menu on seaworld.com today and what you will find is two years old.
Quick facts: Howl-O-Scream runs select nights September 11 through October 31. Tickets start at $45.99 each when you buy two or more, and $40.99 for pass members. No prices have been published for any food item, and no dish has been tied to a specific bar or stand.
What is on the menu
The Main Street Mouse published the fullest list on August 27, naming six dishes: a Tripleta Sandwich layered with roast pork, ham and steak; the Eggo Massacre, "featuring crispy chicken and waffles with maple chili syrup"; a Highway Havoc Bacon Mac & Cheese Dog; Beef Birria Ramen; a Philly Cheese "Stake"; and a Bloody Cookie. WFTV carried a shorter version of the same list about four and a half hours later that evening.
The drinks got names too. Seven specialty cocktails are listed: Midnight Marigold, Mutation Serum, Radiation Exposure, Emergency Beacon, Roadkill Wreckage, Static on Channel 7 and Grito de la Muerte. SeaWorld is also promising seasonal beers and, per The Main Street Mouse, "more than 15 new themed mocktails." Food and Beverage Lanyards return in multiple tiers, each good for a combination of eligible bites, cocktails and mocktails over the course of a night.
Highway Havoc shares its name with Havoc, one of the event's icons since 2025 and the leader of the riders in the returning Throttle show, so the mac and cheese dog is at least thematically spoken for.
The cards nobody transcribed
Here is where it gets more interesting. SeaWorld ran a media preview called Scream & Sweat on August 20, and the dishes it showed were plated with printed name cards in the event's neon Y2K design language, black speckled stock with squiggles, lightning bolts, neon triangles and a small icon such as a skull, a bat or a crescent moon. LaughingPlace photographed nine of those cards. It did not name a single dish in its text, and no other outlet we can find has transcribed them.
Read off the cards, the preview spread included the Tripleta, Birria Ramen and Chicken Eggo Waffles, plus six more that no outlet has reported in prose: Pizza Roles, Cricket Tres Leches, Intestine Cinnamon Roll, Veggie Dumplings, Smores Pop Tart Ice Cream and Strawberry Pop Tart Ice Cream.
Yes, the card really does spell it Pizza Roles. It is legible in the photograph, printed on the same stock as every other card in the set.
Two names that do not match
The cards and the announced menu disagree in a couple of places, and it is worth knowing which is which before you go hunting for a dish.
The card in front of the chicken and waffles reads CHICKEN EGGO WAFFLES. The announced menu calls the same thing the Eggo Massacre. The card in front of the sandwich reads simply TRIPLETA, where the menu says Tripleta Sandwich. Preview cards are not menu boards, so the likeliest explanation is that the kitchen labelled the tasting plates descriptively and marketing named them afterwards. Either way, if you are looking for an Eggo Massacre in September, the thing you saw photographed as Chicken Eggo Waffles is it.
Not everything here is new
The lineup is presented as new food, and most of it is, but at least three items are returning. Orlando Informer's guide to the 2025 event lists a "Highway Havoc Mac & Cheese Dog (Bacon Mac & Cheese Dog)", a Philly Cheese "Stake" with muenster cheese and sriracha mayo, and an El Grito de la Muerte Cocktail. All three turn up again on the 2026 list under the same or nearly the same names.
What is actually on SeaWorld's website right now
This is the service part, and it is the odd bit. SeaWorld has a page for exactly this, and as of Friday morning the entire body of seaworld.com's Taste the Terror page reads "Information Coming Soon!"
The event's separate Feeding Frenzy menu page does have content, but it is not this year's. The food and drink images on it still load from 2023 and 2024 folders, there are no 2025 or 2026 image paths on the page at all, and a beer called SeaWorld's 60th Hazy IPA appears eleven times, tied to the brand's 60th anniversary in 2024. None of the five 2026 bars are listed: not The Rewind, Byte Bar, Resurrection Club, The Black Sheep or Larva Lounge. The Tripleta and the birria ramen are not there either. The one dish from this week's announcement that does appear is the Philly Cheese "Stake", listed there under Mercado de los Muertos, a 2024 location, and it is on the page only because it was also on the 2024 menu. No 2026 stand has been announced for it, or for anything else on this week's list.
None of this is hidden, exactly. SeaWorld has staged the 2026 reveal in pieces over several weeks, the food has already been shown to media and named in the announcement, and the website is simply the last thing to catch up. It is still worth knowing that the menu page you would naturally check is serving a 2024 lineup, and that no prices exist anywhere yet for any of it.
