One of Legoland Florida's best bets for a rainy day is getting almost three weeks off.

LEGO NINJAGO The Ride is now on the resort's Temporary Closures page, listed as closed from November 2 to November 20. Legoland's sitemap shows the page was updated at 10:48am Eastern on Monday, October 12. When we checked the same page on Sunday evening, NINJAGO was not on it.

Indoors, air-conditioned and pitched for rainy days

Legoland calls it "a groundbreaking interactive 4D dark ride." Riders sit in a four-person vehicle, wear 3D glasses and fight with hand gestures, with "no controllers, no blasters, no buttons." There is no minimum height requirement, and the ride lasts about four minutes.

Legoland also pitches it for bad-weather days. The ride's own FAQ says it "is a fully indoor, air-conditioned attraction" that "runs regardless of Florida's weather and makes a great option on hot or rainy days." That page has not been updated to mention the closure. It still calls NINJAGO "a permanent year-round attraction," and adds that "Ride availability can vary on specific days due to scheduled maintenance, weather or operational updates."

Neither the closures page nor the ride page gives a reason for the closure.

Back in time for Christmas Bricktacular, if the dates hold

The closure listing ends November 20. LEGOLAND Christmas Bricktacular is listed for "Select Dates Nov 21 - Jan 3," and its first November dates are the 21st and 22nd. So if Legoland sticks to the posted dates, NINJAGO is back for the event's opening weekend. Peppa Pig's Balloon Ride has the exact same November 2 to 20 window.

November 2 is now a five-ride day

When we covered the November 2 closures on October 7, four rides were scheduled to close the day after Brick or Treat ends. With NINJAGO added, it is five:

  • Battle of Bricksburg: "Starting 11/2," still with no end date
  • DUPLO Tractor: 11/2 to 11/11
  • DUPLO Train: 11/2 to 11/11
  • LEGO NINJAGO The Ride: 11/2 to 11/20 (new)
  • Peppa Pig's Balloon Ride at Peppa Pig Theme Park: 11/2 to 11/20

Merlin's Challenge gets another week

Between our Sunday evening check and Monday's update, Legoland also moved the end of Merlin's Challenge's closure from 10/23 to 10/30. Legoland describes the ride as "a mysterious wooden train ride powered by the wizard's magic," with a 36-inch minimum height.

That matters for Brick or Treat. Legoland lists the remaining Brick or Treat dates as October 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31, plus November 1. Under the old end date, Merlin's Challenge would have been back for October 24. Now it sits out October 24, 25 and 30 as well, and the earliest it could return is Saturday, October 31.

Coast Guard Academy is still listed twice

Coast Guard Academy still appears on the list two times with two different end dates. The lines now read 10/5 to 10/16 and 10/5 to 10/30. On October 7, and still on Sunday evening, they read 10/24 and 10/30, so the first line's end date has moved up eight days. Pirate River Quest is still listed with no dates at all, and LEGOLAND Water Park and the hotels still show "All attractions open."

Peppa Pig Theme Park's own copy of the closures list has caught up this time and matches Legoland's, NINJAGO line included. The standing caveat on both still applies: "Additional attractions may be closed without notice."

Is NINJAGO your family's rainy-day plan, or will you ride it before November 2?
