The Walt Disney World Half Marathon hits its 30th anniversary in 2027, and its medal is literally a 30, with the 3 wearing Donald Duck's blue sailor cap.

runDisney revealed all six finisher medals for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend on Monday, October 12, sharing them on its Instagram, according to Laughing Place. The weekend runs January 6 to 10, 2027, and it marks the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. Donald was the race's inaugural mascot, and Disney says he is the star of every race on every course.

The Half Marathon medal opens up

The Half Marathon medal takes the form of a 30. Donald sprints across the front, and a hinged cover swings open to reveal Daisy Duck inside, cheering. The ribbon reads "30 Years."

All six medals

  • 5K: Pluto sits on a gray-blue shield, with a round Donald medallion in the upper left. WDWMagic says the medallion spins.
  • 10K: Chip 'n' Dale in headbands on a magenta panel inside a wavy silver frame. Donald sits inside the zero of "10K."
  • Half Marathon: the hinged 30, with Donald outside and Daisy inside.
  • Marathon: Mickey and Minnie run across a red shield marked "26.2 Miles," while Donald, up in the top right corner, shows off a medal.
  • Goofy's Race & A Half Challenge (39.3 miles): Goofy runs across a teal hexagon. The side panels open on hinges to a center panel marked "39.3 Miles," with Donald inside.
  • Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles): Dopey bounds across a glittery purple octagon that opens like a locket. Inside, Dopey clutches medals in both hands on one panel, and the other panel is just "48.6 Miles" in sparkly blue.

The Dopey Challenge medal opened like a locket, showing two green octagonal panels: one with Dopey in a green tunic and purple hat holding several gold medals on orange ribbons, the other with 48.6 Miles in glittering blue numerals

That last design fits the job. As Blog Mickey points out, a Dopey finisher goes home with six medals: one for each of the four races, plus the Goofy and Dopey challenge medals.

The race schedule

Per Blog Mickey, the races run on four straight days:

  • Thursday, January 7: Walt Disney World 5K
  • Friday, January 8: Walt Disney World 10K
  • Saturday, January 9: Walt Disney World Half Marathon
  • Sunday, January 10: Walt Disney World Marathon

Goofy's Race & A Half Challenge covers January 9 and 10, and the Dopey Challenge covers all four days.

Already sold out

Every race and challenge on the weekend is sold out, according to Blog Mickey and WDWMagic. For most fans, then, these medals are a preview of what registered runners will bring home in January.

So which one would you run for: the Half Marathon's 30, or the Dopey locket that takes all four days to earn?
