A Rolling Trash Can Named Pinley Turned Up Carrying Roughly 100 Trading Pins on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney World's new pin trading spot is not a shop, a kiosk or a cart. It is a trash can, it has wheels, and it has a name badge.

WDW News Today published photos of Pinley on Monday morning, September 7, after meeting it on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It is a classic green park trash can fitted with a cork pin board, and it comes with a push handle so a Cast Member can wheel it around.

The nametag is the joke: Disney gave the can an oversized version of the oval badge its Cast Members wear. The one in WDW News Today's photos carries Cinderella Castle at the top, the Walt Disney World logo beneath it, the name PINLEY in the middle, and the standard tagline reading The Most Magical Place on Earth along the bottom.

Roughly 100 pins, and one of them is asking

The board itself is a plain cork panel in a brushed metal frame, and the pins run in even rows from the top of it to the bottom. Counting across the ten rows in the photos gives about 97 pins, a mix of Tsum Tsum character faces, Mickey head silhouettes, a sorcerer hat, an ear headband, Chip, Donald, Daisy, Pooh, a teacup and a scattering of park icons. Sitting in the middle of it all is a blue pin that simply reads WANNA TRADE?

That is the point. A pin board a Cast Member can wheel around is a different thing from a board that sits in one place waiting for traders to find it.

No, it does not talk

The obvious question for anyone who remembers chasing a chatty garbage can around Tomorrowland: is this Push again? It is not. WDW News Today spells that out, noting that the retired Push could speak and this can cannot. Pinley is a pin board with wheels and a good name, not an interactive character.

Pinley is not the first trash can to get a nametag

Disney has run this nametag gag at least once already. In December 2025, WDW News Today photographed Bubble-E, a bubble-blowing can working Main Street, U.S.A. under a nametag of its own, a play on WALL-E. That badge went further off the template than Pinley's: the castle at the top was swapped for a letter D beside a trash can, and the bottom line read Magic Kingdom Custodial in place of the usual tagline. A bubble blower sat where the trash slot would be.

That is two named trash cans in under a year, each given a job and a badge to match it.

Where to find it

This is the tricky part. WDW News Today met Pinley on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and notes that a can on wheels does not stay in one spot, so it could turn up at other spots across the parks. The site did not report a schedule or a set location, which makes running into it a matter of timing rather than planning.

If you do find it, bring something worth trading. There are close to 100 pins on the board looking for a swap.

Universal announced the dates and the full lineup on the same day. Rock the Universe returns to Universal Studios Florida on Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2027, with nine artists a night and eighteen across the weekend. Elevation Worship leads the Friday lineup, Josiah Queen leads Saturday, and tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 15.
