Disney's Halloween Foodie Guide Says the Treats Run From Now, but Its Whole Animal Kingdom Section Starts October 1
Disney published its Foodie Guide to Halloween at Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday morning, and it sets a window up front: from now until October 31. Seven of the guide's venue listings do not start that day. All seven are in the Animal Kingdom section, and each carries the same parenthetical, "(Available starting Oct. 1)," which covers every item the park has in the guide's park sections.
The short version: 36 items in the guide, 13 of them new. In their own park sections, Magic Kingdom gets 10 items at 7 locations, 3 of them new, and Hollywood Studios gets 3 items, 1 new. Those are on sale today. Animal Kingdom's 8 section items, 5 of them new, do not go on sale until October 1. EPCOT gets no section of its own. The guide lists no prices.

Every listing in the Animal Kingdom section starts October 1
The Oct. 1 tag is not attached to a single item or a single kitchen. It sits on all seven of the section's listings, which between them cover seven venues: Terra Treats, Flame Tree Barbecue, Creature Comforts, Isle of Java, Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery, Tamu Tamu Refreshments and Harambe Fruit Market. Kusafiri appears in three of the seven listings. All eight items in the section carry the date.
That is not the same as saying there is no Halloween food at Animal Kingdom this week. Zuri's Sweets Shop is listed as a selling location for 8 of the guide's 14 packaged sweets, including both caramel apples and the Large Mickey Spiderweb Cookie, with no date attached. The light-up Vampire Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket is sold at snack carts in all four parks. What is not out yet is everything the park's own kitchens made.
Animal Kingdom is also where most of this year's new food is. Five of the guide's 13 new items are in its section: the Boneyard Cookies and Scream Sundae at Terra Treats, the Candy Corn Pop at Flame Tree Barbecue, the Fall Chocolate Chip Cookie at Creature Comforts, the Mummy Twist, and the Apple Cider Muffin. That is more new items than Magic Kingdom's 3 and Hollywood Studios' 1 combined. Disney's own opening paragraph leads with the Boneyard Cookies and Scream Sundae, and three of the six items in the guide's kids picks section come from Animal Kingdom.

Disney gave the guide only two time signals: the October 31 end date, and the October 1 start on the Animal Kingdom listings. No Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios listing carries a start date, and no Animal Kingdom listing carries an end date. So it is not clear whether the Oct. 1 items run the full month or stop sooner, and if your Animal Kingdom day falls in the next week, none of those eight items will be out.
What is on sale today
Magic Kingdom carries the bulk of the available lineup. The Plaza Restaurant has four items listed, two of them new: a Devilish Crispy Chicken Sandwich on a black kaiser roll and a Phantom Pecan-Caramel Cheesecake. Cheshire Cafe adds a new Queen of Hearts Tart with sour cherry filling. Returning items include the Pumpkin Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, the Skull Meatloaf and the Goblins and Ghoulies cocktail at The Plaza Restaurant, the Ghoulish Blue Raspberry Slushy at The Lunching Pad, the S'mores Cup at Columbia Harbour House, the Magic Potion Slushy at Liberty Square Market, and the DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float at Aloha Isle.

Hollywood Studios has the smallest of the three park sections: the new Maleficent Funnel Cake at Epic Eats, the returning Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart at Woody's Lunch Box, and the Ghost Cream Puff at ABC Commissary and Backlot Express.
Separately, the guide lists 14 packaged sweets sold across Main Street Confectionery, Big Top Souvenirs, Zuri's Sweets Shop and several resort and Disney Springs shops, 4 of them new. Goofy's Candy Company at Disney Springs carries 10 of the 14, more than anywhere else. Main Street Confectionery has 9, Zuri's Sweets Shop 8 and Big Top Souvenirs 7.
EPCOT does not get a section
EPCOT is the only one of the four theme parks without one, and it has no item of its own anywhere in the guide. Its name appears only inside shared lists: Karamell-Küche is one of the shops carrying two of the packaged caramel apples, and EPCOT is one of the four parks whose snack carts sell the Vampire Mickey bucket.
The guide does not say why. Worth noting alongside it: the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival runs August 27 through November 21 this year, so the park has had a seasonal food program running since late August.
The guide lists Aloha Isle in the wrong land
The guide puts Aloha Isle Refreshments under a location line reading Frontierland. Aloha Isle is in Adventureland, which is what Disney's own Walt Disney World dining page for the location says. The guide's other Magic Kingdom listings, at Main Street U.S.A., Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Liberty Square, are placed correctly.

The guide lists no prices
There is not a single dollar figure anywhere in it. That matches what we found in July, when Disney posted the full Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party menu: 58 items, 17 of them new, and no price on any of them. Across the two 2026 Halloween guides, 94 items now carry names, descriptions and locations, with costs still to come.
There is one more thing worth knowing if you are pairing this with a party night. Two Magic Kingdom venues in the guide list extended party hours: Plaza Ice Cream Parlor until 11 p.m. and Liberty Square Market until 8:30 p.m. The party runs select nights from August 7 through October 31, which is 38 nights by our count off Disney's own calendar, and every remaining night is sold out. October 25 was the last date still on sale when it went on September 17. Guests without a party ticket have this daytime lineup and the separate Disney Springs Halloween guide Disney published alongside it.
Still open: why the Animal Kingdom items start October 1, whether they run through October 31 or stop sooner, and what any of it costs. The guide closes with the standard note that all offerings are subject to change and availability.
