Disney Filed a Permit for 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive, an Address With No Entry in the District Database, Right Beside the Haunted Mansion

Walt Disney Imagineering has recorded a Notice of Commencement for a street address that does not exist yet. The property on the paperwork is 1610 Magic Kingdom Dr., Bay Lake, FL 32830. The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District keeps a public address database covering Walt Disney World property, and there is no 1610 in it. The closest address it does have is 1600 Magic Kingdom Drive, which belongs to the Haunted Mansion.

That gap is the whole story. Buildings that already exist already have addresses, so a new number usually means a new structure, and Blog Mickey expects this one to rise inside the Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land construction site.

What the filing actually says

WDWMagic reported the filing on Tuesday morning, and Blog Mickey laid out the details on Wednesday. Like most Notices of Commencement, the filing is thin:

• Property: 1610 Magic Kingdom Dr., Bay Lake, FL 32830
• Description of Improvement: "General Construction"
• Owner: Walt Disney Imagineering
• Contractor: PCL Construction Services Inc. of Orlando
• Expiration: not filled in, which by statute means one year from the date it was recorded

In Florida, an owner files a Notice of Commencement before construction begins, and the form must be recorded and displayed at the site ahead of the first inspection. Blog Mickey reads that timing as a sign Imagineering is close to starting work here, though the filing itself gives no hint of what gets built.

The owner line carries information as well. Blog Mickey calls the Imagineering ownership "the most significant data point, beyond the new address," because it means the construction is likely to be themed in nature.

The likeliest answer is a restroom, and that is not a letdown

Blog Mickey and WDWMagic both land in the same place. The Piston Peak National Park scale model shown at D23 in August 2026 labeled a small building beside the Haunted Mansion as a restroom facility, and a permit filed in January sized that structure at about 5,800 square feet. Blog Mickey places it north and west of the mansion, sitting between the mansion grounds and the walkway that will lead into Villains Land.

Blog Mickey puts it plainly: "It's possible that 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive belongs to that restroom building. The address numbering and general location line up." The same post allows that Disney could assign the number to a different building inside the site, "including an attraction building," but adds, "That seems less likely to me, though."

Worth keeping expectations calibrated. This is a permit for a building at a new address, not an announcement of a ride.

The contractor switch is a small but real clue

Back in July, Imagineering recorded an amended Notice of Commencement covering teardown and ground work across the old Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island footprint, with NorthStar Contracting Group listed as the contractor. This new one brings a different contractor and a wider "General Construction" description. That scope is not new to the land as a whole: WDWMagic reported a separate general construction notice for Piston Peak back in April, filed under Balfour Beatty Construction LLC at 4995 Caribbean Way.

Blog Mickey reads that as the site moving "from clearing and utility work toward new buildings." The rest of the site backs that up. Crews have been moving dirt for months and installing underground pipes since early June, a tower crane went up this summer, and WDWMagic reports that crews are still building retaining walls along the edge of the site nearest Frontierland and Liberty Square.

What nobody knows yet

No outlet covering the filing has confirmed what the building is, and Disney has not announced anything tied to this address. What is announced is the ride lineup. Disney named Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along at D23 in August 2026, and neither has an opening date yet.

For now, the only hard fact about 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive is that it exists on a recorded form and nowhere in the district's address database.
