Fort Wilderness Holiday Sleigh Rides Return December 1 to 30 at $80 for 25 Minutes, and Booking Is Open Now

Florida does not do snow, but Fort Wilderness does do sleighs. Disney's Holiday Sleigh Rides are back for the 2026 season, and reservations are now open as of Thursday, October 8.

Here is the short version, as reported by Blog Mickey, WDW News Today and WDWMagic:

  • Dates: December 1 through December 30, 2026, with no rides on December 24
  • Price: $80 per ride, which Blog Mickey and WDWMagic both say includes tax
  • Length: 25 minutes
  • Capacity: up to 4 adults per sleigh, or a mix of 2 adults plus 3 small children
  • Booking: up to 60 days ahead on Disney's website or in the My Disney Experience app

Is $80 worth it?

That works out to about $3.20 a minute. The $80 is listed per ride, and each sleigh holds up to 4 adults, so four adults splitting one ride would pay $20 each. That is the same $80 Disney charged for the 2025 season, according to WDW News Today's coverage last October. Blog Mickey notes the price was $75 when it covered the rides in 2022.

The ride itself is a horse-drawn trip along the wooded trails of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Disney lists it as open to all ages, according to Blog Mickey.

The 60-day window matters right now

Because bookings open 60 days ahead, the whole month is not on sale yet. As Blog Mickey points out, the later December dates open on a rolling basis as the month approaches. By our count, 60 days from today is about December 7, so roughly the first week is bookable now, and the last date, December 30, should open around October 31. If you have a specific night in mind, set a reminder for 60 days before it.

Walk-ups and same-day bookings are possible, but spots are limited and depend on availability. WDW News Today calls it "a very popular holiday offering" and recommends booking ahead.

Mind the cancellation policy. If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation, or do not show up, you pay the full price.

Getting to the barn takes a while

Every ride starts at Tri-Circle-D Ranch, the horse barn by the Settlement Bus Depot, and Disney asks guests to check in at least 15 minutes before their reservation time.

  • Park at, or take a bus to, the main entrance of Fort Wilderness, then ride the complimentary internal bus to the Settlement Bus Depot.
  • Allow at least 60 minutes of transportation time for that trip.
  • Coming from elsewhere at Walt Disney World? Allow up to 90 minutes.

Know before you go

  • Rides run in rain and cold but can be cancelled in extreme weather.
  • Disney does not provide umbrellas, ponchos or sunscreen, so bring your own.
  • If you use a wheelchair, you will need to be able to make the step up into the sleigh.

So, would you spend $80 on 25 minutes in a Florida sleigh, or is it only worth the trip if you are already staying at Fort Wilderness?
