Vacation Fun Never Closed for Jollywood Nights After All, but It Now Shuts at 3pm on All 15 Party Dates

Mickey and Minnie are not packing their bags after all. Vacation Fun, the animated short at the Mickey Shorts Theater in Disney's Hollywood Studios, is staying open through the Disney Jollywood Nights season, with one catch: on party dates, the curtain comes down at 3pm.

That is a change from what we told you last month. On October 3 we reported that the show was set to close again from October 28, based on the My Disney Experience app. That closure never happened. WDWMagic says Disney "later removed the notice and kept the attraction open," and WDW News Today found it still running on October 29.

The new party-night schedule

Blog Mickey checked the My Disney Experience app and found Vacation Fun's hours set at 9:00am to 3:00pm on each Jollywood Nights date, against an 8:00pm close on regular days. The 3pm dates are:

  • November: 7, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28
  • December: 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 and 23
  • January: 3 and 5

That is 15 dates in all, starting today. The normal 9:00am to 8:00pm hours return on Sunday, November 8, the day after the first party. Blog Mickey also spotted the latest closing time on the calendar: 11:00pm on New Year's Eve.

For context, day guests have to leave Hollywood Studios by 7:00pm on party nights, which means the theater shuts four hours before the park closes to them. If you want a few air-conditioned minutes with Mickey and Minnie on a party date, go before 3pm.

Why 3pm?

Disney has not said. All three outlets think the theater is being put to work for Jollywood Nights again, and Blog Mickey bets on merchandise. Here is why.

Last year Disney pulled the show on October 20, 2025, labeling it a refurbishment, and it stayed away until December 27. While it was gone, the theater served as the party's merchandise store, and party guests walked through it to buy the exclusive items. This year, Blog Mickey points out, Disney again says the Jollywood collection is sold only during the event, near Frozen Fractal Gifts. That is the same description Disney gave last year, when the shop turned out to be inside the Mickey Shorts Theater. A 3pm close would leave time to turn the post-show photo area back into a shop.

WDW News Today adds a clue from late October, when Cast Members were directing guests out the way they came in, skipping the usual exit past the photo ops.

It has been a stop-and-start year for the little theater. Blog Mickey notes Vacation Fun only reopened on September 27, ending a closure of nearly two months during which Annual Passholders collected their Kermit the Frog magnet inside. Shorter hours on 15 party dates beats losing the show for two months, as it did last year.

Will you catch Vacation Fun before the party, or is Jollywood Nights all about the shopping for you?
