Halloween Horror Nights House Queues Now Play a Rules Warning: Don't Touch the Performers, or Face Removal From the Event
The scareactors at Halloween Horror Nights can get very close to you. You are not allowed to touch them, and Universal is now spelling that out in the house queues.
Guests in line for the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Studios Florida now hear an announcement reminding them not to touch the performers, WDW News Today reports. WDW News Today says the announcement "now plays periodically in the queues for all the haunted houses."

What the announcement says
As transcribed by WDW News Today, a voice states:
"We ask that you do not touch performers, threaten or harass others, use obscene language, jump ahead in line, or engage in horseplay. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in removal from the event."
So it covers more than the scareactors. Line jumping and horseplay are on the list too, and the stated consequence is removal from the event.
When it started
WDW News Today describes the announcement as recently added. X user @MaxThemeParked posted a video with part of it on Saturday, October 17, writing "HHN announcement now playing around rules and safety. Saturday week 8 continues." We found no announcement or statement from Universal about the change.

Why it matters
WDW News Today calls touching scareactors, "whether accidental or purposeful," a frequent problem at haunts of all kinds, Halloween Horror Nights included. WDW News Today also notes the no-contact rule works in both directions: a scareactor may come close during a scare but is not meant to make contact, and guests should keep their hands off the cast.
It was first reported less than a week after a separate incident on the West Coast. WDW News Today reported that the performer playing the Nikki character at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood cut a meet and greet short on October 11 after a group of teenagers yelled and chanted at her. WDW News Today says she was not touched. That happened in Hollywood, not Orlando, and WDW News Today says it does not know whether the Hollywood event has added the same announcement.
Orlando's event runs through November 1. Universal's opening-night press release put Halloween Horror Nights 2026 at 49 select nights through November 1.
Have you ever seen a guest grab a scareactor in a house, or is the warning overdue?
