Legoland Florida Lights Its LEGO Christmas Tree November 20, Earlier Than Last Year, and Adds Santa and Yeti Pop Badges

Legoland Florida's giant LEGO Christmas tree has a date with the light switch, and it comes earlier than last year. The resort's holiday page now says: "Kick Christmas Bricktacular off with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 20 at 6:00 p.m.!"

That is a Friday, and it is the night before the first listed date of LEGOLAND Christmas Bricktacular, which starts Saturday, November 21. Legoland says the ceremony is "all included in regular admission and select Annual Passes!"

More than two weeks earlier than 2025

Last year, Legoland Florida launched its holiday event on Saturday, December 6, "with the lighting of the Park's iconic more than 30-foot-tall LEGO Christmas Tree built from more than 360,000 LEGO and DUPLO bricks," according to the resort's 2025 announcement as published by Gotta Go Orlando. The lighting went ahead that weekend, when the resort used the ceremony to reveal Galacticoaster's opening date.

This year the tree goes on November 20, 16 days earlier on the calendar. That tracks with the event itself, which now opens in November rather than December. Last year's holiday event dates were December 6, 13 and 20, then December 24 through 31.

One thing to watch: Legoland's own hours calendar currently lists the theme park as open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 20, an hour before the 6:00 p.m. ceremony, and the holiday page does not say whether hours will be extended that night. On every event date from November 21 through January 2, the calendar shows the park open until 7 p.m. (6 p.m. on January 3). Check the hours calendar again closer to the date before planning an evening around the lighting.

Two new Pop Badges: LEGO Santa and the Yeti

The same page has a second new section. Legoland is handing out two exclusive Christmas Bricktacular Pop Badges, and the instructions are a two-stop route: "Head to the LEGO Shop to collect a LEGO Santa Pop Badge, then trek over to King's Market to claim a LEGO Yeti Pop Badge."

The fine print reads: "One (1) per person. While Supplies Last. Only available on Christmas Bricktacular Event Dates." November 20 is not in the page's published list of event dates, which starts November 21. The same page does describe its letters-to-Santa activity as available on event days from November 20 through December 24, so the page is not consistent on this point, but until Legoland clarifies, do not count on a badge at the tree lighting.

The Yeti is this year's new holiday character, and the badge leans into it with a "Yeti, Set, Build!" slogan. It follows the same pattern as Brick or Treat, which offered two event-day badges at two separate locations this fall. One difference: Legoland's Brick or Treat page called those badges free and said no purchase was necessary, while the Christmas page says only to "collect" and "claim" them.

The dates

  • Tree Lighting Ceremony: Friday, November 20, 6:00 p.m. (the hours calendar currently shows the park closing at 5 p.m. that day)
  • Christmas Bricktacular event dates: November 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29; December 5, 6, 12, 13 and 18 through 31; January 1, 2 and 3
  • Pop Badges: event dates only, one of each per person, while supplies last

Are you going for the lighting on the 20th, or saving the trip for a badge day?
