If you're heading to Universal's Volcano Bay, leave the cash at home. The water park has officially gone fully cashless as of February 25, 2026 — and signs are now posted throughout the park making the policy clear to arriving guests.

What's Accepted

All purchases inside Volcano Bay — dining, shopping, locker rentals, photos — must now be made using one of the following:

  • Credit or debit cards

  • Universal Pay

  • Universal Gift Cards

  • Other tap-to-pay methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

What If You Only Have Cash?

Universal has installed cash-to-card kiosks inside Volcano Bay where guests can load their cash onto a Visa prepaid card. The cards carry no usage fees and work anywhere major credit cards are accepted — both inside and outside the park.

Only Volcano Bay — For Now

The cashless policy currently applies only to Volcano Bay. Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe all still accept cash. Whether Universal plans to expand the policy to its other parks remains to be seen, but Volcano Bay is serving as the testing ground.

Plan accordingly for your next visit.
