Universal's Passholder Discount Store Moves Into the Fast & Furious: Supercharged Exit Shop on Thursday
One of Universal Orlando's most popular passholder perks is getting a bigger room, and the address is a punchline. On Thursday, September 3, the Annual Passholder and Team Member discount store relocates to the former Custom Gear shop in the San Francisco area of Universal Studios Florida. Custom Gear was the shop at the exit of Fast & Furious: Supercharged, the ride that closed for good on August 17, 2026.
Passholders found out through a message, not a press release. Laughing Place reports passholders were notified through what it describes as "the official social channel's messaging platform."

What the store actually is
If you have never been inside, it is a clearance room. The stock is merchandise pulled from across the whole destination, including Epic Universe, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, and Laughing Place describes the discounts as typically 70 percent. Entry is limited to Annual Passholders and Team Members.
The problem has been the room itself. The Brown Derby Hat Shop sold hats and small trinkets before the perk moved in. Laughing Place describes the space as "quite compact" and says a short line to get in has been the norm for the passholders and Team Members who shop there.
The new space is bigger. Laughing Place expects that to mean more people inside at once, and hopes it means more stock on the shelves.

The building it is moving into
Fast & Furious: Supercharged closed permanently on August 17, 2026, after we covered its final passholder nights. Since then the building has only produced subtraction stories: the lettering painted over, most of the display cars pulled out of the queue.
This is the first thing to move in. Inside the Magic frames it plainly, writing that "For the time being, the discount store essentially becomes the first confirmed replacement use connected to the former attraction."
It is worth being precise about what that does and does not mean. Universal has announced nothing about a new attraction for the building. A gift shop at the exit being repurposed is not a replacement ride, and the show building itself remains unaccounted for. Laughing Place notes that rumors about a replacement have often mentioned former park properties including Back to the Future and JAWS, with no official word on any of it.

The sign-off
The best detail is the last line of the message. Laughing Place reports that the note to passholders closes with "You're Gonna Need A Bigger Closet."
That is a play on the JAWS line "You're gonna need a bigger boat," and it is not a random gag. The San Francisco area of Universal Studios Florida, which is exactly where the store is landing, is full of tributes to the film and to the JAWS ride that used to operate at the park. Laughing Place notes those tributes "have all but taken over" that part of the park.

A short history of a moving store
This perk has never stayed put. The Brown Derby Hat Shop was converted into the Team Member and passholder "Garage Sale" store in December 2024, per Inside Universal. In May 2025, WDW News Today covered a larger clearance store that Universal opened in the space it normally uses for its summer Tribute Store, a move that at the time replaced the Brown Derby shop down the street. The perk later found its way back to the Brown Derby. Thursday's move is the latest reshuffle, and Inside the Magic reads it as the kind of temporary or semi-permanent use Universal is comfortable with while it decides what to do with the rest of the building.
If you are a passholder, the practical takeaway is short: do not walk to Hollywood on Thursday. Walk to San Francisco, to the brick warehouse that used to be Fast & Furious: Supercharged, and look for the shop by the old ride exit.
