SeaWorld Orlando's Free Teacher Card Is Back for a New Year, and the Aquatica Add On Has Gone Up a Dollar Again

The free card is genuinely free. It is the paid extras attached to it that keep creeping.

SeaWorld Orlando has opened registration for the 2026-2027 SeaWorld Florida Teacher Card, which gives active and certified K-12 Florida teachers unlimited admission to the park through September 2, 2027 at no cost and with no blockout dates. WKMG News 6 reported it on Wednesday.

The optional Aquatica Orlando add on is $49.99. Last card year it was $48.99. The year before that it was $47.99. Go back one more and it was $45. So the jump into $47.99 was $2.99, and the two moves since have each been exactly a dollar. That is a steady, small annual increase, and the Aquatica add on runs the full length of the card, through September 2, 2027 with no blockout dates.

The guest tickets climbed four dollars across the same stretch. Teachers can buy up to two, and SeaWorld now advertises them "for as low as $38.99." SeaWorld's 2024 press release for this program put them "as low as $36.99," and Attractions Magazine reported them at $34.99 each when registration opened in 2023.

The guest tickets expire in three weeks

This is the part worth circling. The card itself runs for nearly a year, but SeaWorld's page says to "Save now through the ID.me and use your tickets by Oct. 2, 2026!" WKMG reports the same deadline, noting the tickets "must be purchased and used by Oct. 2."

So a teacher signing up today has until Friday, October 2 to both buy and burn the two discounted guest tickets, and until September 2, 2027 to use the card. SeaWorld says the guest tickets represent "saving over 70%."

How you actually get one

Registration is online only. SeaWorld's page is blunt about it: registration "is only available via online offer and is not available at any SeaWorld Orlando ticket window." Verification runs through ID.me, which SeaWorld describes as "a third party which verifies your teacher status so we can provide offers," and which needs a Florida Department of Education number to audit eligibility.

Private school teachers who cannot get through that process have a manual route: bring a principal's letter on official letterhead, a Florida photo ID and a paystub from within the last 30 days to the front gate.

One caution buried in the FAQ. The Teacher Card is not an annual pass and does not behave like one. SeaWorld states it "does not include benefits like free parking, free guest tickets, free giveaways, in-park discounts on food, merchandise, or any other discounts, offers, or benefits." The teacher also has to be present to redeem the card.

The five dollar version

Teacher Card holders can also buy a Guy Harvey commemorative card for a $5 donation, sold at the front gate ticket window or the Pass Member Lounge while supplies last. SeaWorld says it donates "100% of the net proceeds, before taxes" to the Guy Harvey Foundation.

What Gilmour said

The announcement carries a quote from Brad Gilmour, who took over as SeaWorld Orlando's park president in August. "Teachers play a critical role in shaping future generations, and SeaWorld Orlando is honored to support their efforts by providing opportunities to connect learning with real-world experiences," said Gilmour, whom WKMG identifies as Park President of SeaWorld Orlando. "We hope educators will take advantage of all the park has to offer throughout the year."

SeaWorld's own page frames the program more plainly: "Research and education are key pillars to the foundation of what SeaWorld does every day."

A full year of events, including one that has not happened yet

A card running to September 2027 covers most of the events that come with regular admission. Howl-O-Scream, which SeaWorld's events page labels "a separately-ticketed event," is not one of them. The list WKMG published runs Halloween Spooktacular (now through October 2027), Christmas Celebration (November to January 2027), Three Kings Celebration (January 2027), Ocean Discovery Days (January 2027), Seven Seas Food Festival (February to May 2027), Mardi Gras (February 2027), St. Patrick's Day Celebration (March 2027), Cinco de Mayo (May 2027), Viva La Música (May 2027) and Electric Ocean (May to September 2027). One catch on that first entry: SeaWorld's own calendar puts the 2027 Spooktacular in August to October, so the card expires partway through it.

Ocean Discovery Days is the one to watch. WKMG's listing describes it as "an all-new, behind-the-scenes event spotlighting SeaWorld's rescue, research, and animal care work," and it does not yet appear on the park's own events index.

One more piece of the pattern, for anyone reading the end date as a quiet trim. The date has moved a day earlier every year, and the calendar is why. The card has expired on September 5, 2024, September 4, 2025, September 3, 2026 and now September 2, 2027. All four are the first Thursday in September.

The guide also never mentions the LEGO carrots, the Festival of Flurries or any of the event's characters apart from LEGO Santa.
