Scat Cat's Club Closes October 6 at Port Orleans French Quarter, and the Mickey Beignets Move to the Food Court

The Mickey-shaped beignets at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter are about to change addresses. Both halves of Scat Cat's Club, the café and the lounge, close for refurbishment on Tuesday, October 6, and the beignets move a short walk away to the resort food court while the work happens.

Quick facts: Scat Cat's Club Café and Scat Cat's Club Lounge both close October 6, 2026. The café is projected to return in December 2026, the lounge in January 2027. Beignets and coffee move to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, and a temporary bar operates near the café from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The two venues close on the same day but do not come back on the same day. WDWMagic reports the café is expected to reopen in December, with the lounge following in January 2027, which leaves the French Quarter without its only indoor lounge for roughly three to four months. The resort keeps its poolside bar, Mardi Grogs, which Disney lists as open until 10:00 p.m.

There is still somewhere to get a drink. A temporary bar will stand in near the café during the closure, running 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Disney has not said what it will pour, and no menu has been published.

The Halloween beignet has a hard cutoff. The Ghoulish Delight beignets, a cookies-and-cream take drizzled with marshmallow crème, follow the regular beignets over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, but their last day there is November 1. After that the seasonal version comes off the menu, closure or not.

What Disney has not said. There is no Disney Parks Blog post about any of this, and neither official Scat Cat's Club page carried a closure notice as of Friday morning. Disney has not described the scope of the work in either space. The café's last refurbishment was in 2024.

If you have a French Quarter stay booked this fall, the practical version is short: the beignets survive, they just move to the food court, and the jazz lounge is not expected back until after the new year.

Universal Sets Rock the Universe 2027 for January 22 and 23 and Names All 18 Artists, Led by Elevation Worship and Josiah Queen

Universal announced the dates and the full lineup on the same day. Rock the Universe returns to Universal Studios Florida on Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2027, with nine artists a night and eighteen across the weekend. Elevation Worship leads the Friday lineup, Josiah Queen leads Saturday, and tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 15.
