Magic Kingdom's Christmas Party Parade Rolls in Daylight on November 10 and 11, and You Don't Need a Party Ticket

The Christmas parade that normally costs a party ticket is coming out in daylight on two November days.

Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is scheduled at 2pm on Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11, during regular Magic Kingdom park hours, WDWMagic and Blog Mickey reported on Wednesday, October 21. Disney has taken the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade off the schedule on both days, so one parade simply swaps in for the other.

Why a party parade is showing up in daylight

On a normal night, this parade belongs to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the separately ticketed event that opens for the season on November 8. Blog Mickey notes that party guests are usually the only ones who get to see it, and only once night has fallen.

Neither of the new dates is a party night. They fall on a Tuesday and a Wednesday, sitting between the November 9 and November 12 parties.

The likely reason is television. Both outlets tie the dates to the annual taping of ABC's Disney Parks holiday special. Blog Mickey notes that early-November daytime performances have pointed to the taping in past years, including a similar swap with Festival of Fantasy in 2024. Blog Mickey says the 2pm shows line up "with the annual taping for the ABC holiday special," and WDWMagic says the timing "strongly points" to filming on those dates. Disney itself has not announced air dates or other details for this year's specials, according to WDWMagic, so treat the taping link as a strong pattern, not an official confirmation.

No party ticket needed

The practical upshot: if you are already in Magic Kingdom on either day, you can see it with your regular admission. In WDWMagic's words, you can catch the parade "with a standard park admission ticket," with no separate event ticket required.

Blog Mickey also points out that daylight reveals costume and float details that tend to disappear at night, so these two afternoons are a strong chance for photos.

Where to watch

This is the part that takes some planning. According to Blog Mickey, recent tapings have seen Disney pack Main Street, U.S.A. with Cast Members. It also notes that in 2024, Disney "blocked off Main Street USA entirely and routed guests through backstage areas to keep them off camera."

Its top pick is Frontierland. Because the parade still covers its whole route, Blog Mickey expects viewing spots in both Frontierland and Liberty Square. Blog Mickey suggests Cinderella Castle as another likely option, though it expects that area to be crowded.

What has changed in the parade lately

According to Blog Mickey, the parade got a new soundtrack in 2024, with pieces of The Nutcracker woven through the classic "Once Upon a Christmastime" song. The 2025 changes were minor: the chimney on Olaf's cottage now gives off smoke, and the waltzing ballroom dancers traded their Dickens-style outfits for gold and blue ones.

The first look at the 2026 version comes on the party's opening night, November 8, two days before the first daytime show.

Would you plan a Magic Kingdom day around a 2pm Christmas parade, or skip Main Street that afternoon and catch it in Frontierland?
