Legoland Florida Turns 15 on October 15, and the First 150 Guests Through the Gates Get a Birthday Goody Bag
Legoland Florida opened on October 15, 2011, on the old Cypress Gardens site in Winter Haven. On Thursday, October 15, it turns 15, and Legoland is marking the day with a limited-edition birthday Pop Badge, goody bags for the first 150 guests, 15 extra Mr. Gold badges out around the park and a free LEGO set with a $150 purchase.
Legoland laid out the plans in a new "Celebrate LEGOLAND Florida Resort's 15th Birthday" section at the top of its Know Before You Go page, which was updated Friday afternoon.

What is happening on October 15
- 15th Birthday Pop Badge: a limited-edition collectible to pick up at the LEGO Shop on October 15. Limit one per person, no purchase necessary, while supplies last.
- Treat bags for the first 150: the first 150 guests admitted to LEGOLAND Florida Resort on October 15 get what Legoland calls "a bricktastic goody bag filled with exclusive treats and surprises." Limit one per person, no purchase necessary, while supplies last.
- 15 extra Mr. Gold badges: on October 15 only, 15 extra Mr. Gold Pop Badges will be "out and about the Park."
- Passholder discount: Annual Pass holders get 15% off at the LEGO Shop on October 15, with a $1,000 spending limit before the discount. Legoland says item restrictions and passholder blockout dates apply.

Legoland says the Mr. Gold badge can only be found by spotting it on one of its Model Citizens, so keep an eye out and ask, "Do you have Mr. Gold?" If you do find him, remember the catch we flagged in September: Legoland's Pop Badge rules say you can take the prize or keep the collectible Mr. Gold badge, not both.
What starts on October 15 and keeps going
Two of the birthday extras start on the 15th with no end date given, so they run while supplies last:
- Free Birthday Cupcake LEGO set: spend $150 or more at the LEGO Shop and you get an exclusive Birthday Cupcake set free. The purchase has to be worth $150 before any discounts. The box pictured is set 40905, with 174 pieces, for ages 7 and up.
- Everything is Roar-some Pop Badge: pick one up at Rebuild the World. Limit one per person, no purchase necessary.

Plan for a weekday visit
October 15 is a Thursday. According to the park hours data we track, the theme park is scheduled to open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day. Check Legoland's operating calendar before you go, because hours can change. With only 150 goody bags, arrive early if you want one. Legoland says toll and ticket booths open about 30 to 45 minutes before the theme park does.
